Great staff. Friendly, helpful. Good English. Special mention to Andy on Reception, Eva on the Concierge Desk and Anna in the restaurant. The very grand-looking (if a bit Soviet in style) hotel is set back from the road and is pretty quiet. Walkable easily to the Eastern entrance to the wall and to the centre of Xian. Our room had all the usual facilities, maybe a bit light on wardrobe space. It was quiet. The furnishings were a bit fancy for our tastes but that’s subjective. The only slight negative is that the ground floor of the hotel was fairly chilly, so choose where you sit in the restaurant, ideally away from the windows! Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice, regularly replenished, and an egg station.

Best hotel in xian . Service is good with best price and best service. Breakfast with full of healthy food and fresh juice with good ingredients . Room very clean immaculate. Location is not the best but you can always get didi around

Great food and service in a very convenient environment. I came to this restaurant multiple times, it was always very good. In my home country, I live with Italian people, so I have high expecations and high standards towards italian food. This place is clearly a top restaurant.

Sweat all night. The thermostat is a non-functional decoration.

The room was very hot. We like to sleep in a cool room. We set the thermostat at 65 F and the room never got cooler than 76F. We stayed two nights and I mentioned the problem to the front desk after sweating through the first night. Nothing was done so the second night was just as bad. We opened the windows the second night, but the cool outside air could not overcome the hot air blowing out of the vents so the only difference was we could hear construction noise all night. It’s a beautiful old hotel, but the HVAC system doesn’t work. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Our honeymoon stay in Xi’an was truly unforgettable, and the entire team made it incredibly special from start to finish. The location was brilliant—perfect for exploring the city—and our room was both comfortable and luxurious, giving us a beautiful place to relax. We were looked after by our wonderful butler, Tommy, whose thoughtfulness and personal touches meant the world to us. He even surprised us with a beautiful handwritten and illustrated card, which we’ll treasure forever. At the restaurant, Justin went above and beyond to accommodate our dietary requirements with such care and kindness. Anna and Lily were always welcoming and attentive, helping to make each dining experience feel extra special. We would also like to thank Fancy, who made us feel incredibly welcome. In fact, every single team member we encountered offered exceptional service and genuine warmth throughout our stay. One of the highlights was the surprise mousse dessert they prepared just for us—it was the perfect way to celebrate our honeymoon and made us feel truly valued. The Louis XIII bar was also amazing, with a fantastic atmosphere and exceptional service. Beyond the outstanding hospitality, the facilities were excellent. The pool and gym were both great, and we enjoyed making use of them during our stay. We also had a massage in the spa, which was an incredible and deeply relaxing experience. Every detail, from the service to the surprises, was handled with such care and professionalism. We were genuinely sad to leave, and we would absolutely love to return in the future. Highly recommended!
