Came to Cardiff for a long weekend to visit the Christmas Market & celebrate my wife’s birthday. Decided to stay at the Novotel because it looked to be within walking distance for the market, shops and bars. The hotel has a car park, cost £10 per night which was an added bonus, although due to a wedding on the Saturday night, it was very busy and we struggled to park. We opted for an executive room which was very nice, very comfortable bed and big enough for a family of four with the sofa bed. The bathroom was rather cramped for me but this was due to the separate bath and shower, personally I’d have preferred a bigger shower and no bath but, that’s just my preference. The bar and restaurant areas both seemed to be very popular, we had breakfast included in our rate and it offered a good selection of cooked and continental breakfast items. The stand out thing for both myself and my wife was the helpfulness and friendliness of all the staff, it would be unfair to highlight one individual because they were all excellent. All in all, we had a very nice stay and would return again.

Arrived on the 23rd November 5 minutes before check in at 14h55, there was no parking available as it was full. I argued that the reason I booked at this hotel is that there was parking available, then being told it is first come first served - but how? I could not check in earlier than 15h00. the room is dated and could do with a refresh, looking a bit tired.
