I went to Birmingham for a four-day work trip in July 2025; I was on a tight budget but fortunately, this hotel didn't compromise budget for comfort. It was very affordable while corresponding perfectly to my needs. The room looked the exact same as in the pictures. Everything was very clean, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, and I also enjoyed breakfast. What I preferred, though, was the people at the reception desk: everyone was absolutely lovely! Thank you for providing directions and for always making sure I enjoyed my stay: your kindness meant a lot to me.

A very low priced city centre room, that's compact and clean and totally fine to be used as a base for a weekend of city break. Travelling solo this had more than enough space for me, my bag, and my teddy bear to spread out and relax when we weren't off having adventures. The shower maybe wasn't as reliably hot at all times as some hotels, but I never felt it was especially lacking. The separate (but en-suite) toilet, like all the others in this chain are slightly to the claustrophobia side, and can suffer from poor ventilation/temperature regulation, but if you're solo then it's not hard to prop the door ajar if you wish. I didn't take breakfast (or any meals) in the hotel this time, but did notice a bank of vending machines in reception. Check in was quick & easy, and the rooms easy to get to - although a friend also staying had some persistent difficulties with reliability of facilities in the accessible rooms, leading to multiple room moves over the weekend. The hotel is a short walk from both the Gay Village & Chinatown areas of the city - via a nearby underpass under the main road that is only ramp accessible on one side (this is well outside the remit of the hotel, but visitors with heavy bags or mobility issues should be aware). Overall, very satisfied - will quite likely use again!

Stayed here as a family for my granddaughters graduation. Rooms basic but spotless all you need (no kettle in room) . Breakfast is continental and adequate. There is an ironing room , microwave, toaster , hot water machine , vending machine for hot/cold drinks and a snack machine . There is no bar but on request at reception alcoholic drinks are available and some hot food I.e pizza is available. So everything you need has a nice seating area for getting together. So all in all a nice clean cheap basic hotel near the symphony hall for graduations . Staff are lovely and friendly 🙂

Good place to stay - beware of small hidden costs

The hotel is located 10 minutes from Birmingham New Street station and 15 minutes from the main shopping area. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was decent. The only disappointments for me were the 2 hidden costs. I had arrived at 14:00 and my room was ready. However, I was told I would need to pay an extra GBP 10 if I wanted to check-in 1 hour earlier, despite the room being ready. I declined and checked in at 15:00. The other disappointment was the GBP 2 cost per bag of leaving a bag behind once I had checked out, which I had wanted to pick up later. I paid this as I did not want to walk around Birmingham with my suitcase. I have stayed at many Ibis hotels all over Europe and England is the only place I have encountered these extra costs. Apart from those 2 aspects, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I can definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a decent place to stay in the city centre.
