Given I am a gold member and had asked for a bigger room, I was given a room which was not only like a matchbox (saying it’s the largest room they had) with 2 beds. The room was the very first room in the hotel on the ground floor literally beside the parking entrance. Everyone coming in and out of the parking had a direct view of my room. I was travelling with an infant and it was really uncomfortable. I checked out the next day cutting my 2 nights stay to 1 night. At checkout, I was told I would be refunded by second night (which is a standard everywhere) but then I received an email saying it won’t be refunded. Staff hardly understood English or knew policies or procedures. I was hardly welcomed for the status I held with Accor, no upgrades, no additional benefits. Felt like a backpacker on a budget trip staying at a hostel. I wasted 12k points for 2 nights (of which I only used 1 night) and then had to spend another 4k for another hotel as Ibis was hard to stay in.

The hotel is run by a lesbian/transgender and it shows. Very poorly organized and run. Efficiency runs from the top down. Having lower personnel obligated to consent to being ordered around by someone who lives a totally different lifestyle will eventually fail.

We stayed 4 nights and were generally very happy with our stay. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. We were just a bit disappointed with the choice of food available in the restaurant & it wasn’t great, although service was very good.
