Uncomfortable two night stay

The stay was uncomfortable to say the least. Couple of reasons. (i) On one of the days there was no water to flush in toilet (ii) Could not connect to my VPN network to attend to urgent business emails (iii) The breakfast was mediocre (iv) The front desk could be more friendly to customers.

Small room that is average size for ibis. Parking pay lot across the street. Friendly staff and helpful. City center 15 minute walk away. Great city with a lot of history. The White wine was surprisingly very good. Didn’t know they had so many vineyards around the city. Fun time.

I have been a loyal Le Club AccorHotels member and a fan of ibis hotels. This city hotel somehow managed to completely change my mind. I would have never thought an ibis hotel can provide such a terrible service. Problem 1. They treated me and my family like a group of liars. They kept asking how old my granddaughter was. I understand if they asked maybe once or twice. They asked four times! As if I'm trying to lie about her age to save some money! When they asked for the fourth time, I asked them if they would like to see her passport! Problem 2. There was a bit problem with the sofa bed. The sofa bed in my son's room collapsed in the middle of the night when my daughter-in-law was trying to put 2 year old granddaughter to sleep. At first, one side collapsed on my granddaughter frightening her. Second, my son remade the bed and asked for his wife to check it out before putting the child on again. This time the whole sofa bed collapsed hurting my daughter-in-laws back. So they called the front desk immediately but did not get a response. Since it was very late in the night and they were all very tired, they decided to wait until the morning. Next morning, since they couldn't really get much sleep, they overslept and was late for the breakfast. So they called the front desk after having the breakfast. A hotel staff came up and inspected the bed and confirmed that the bed was not setup properly. The staff notified the management and told us to talk to them about compensation when we check out. The problem arose again when they were trying to check out. The front desk employee refused to listen to what my son and his wife had to say. She kept repeating that there was nothing wrong with the bed when they set it up. She also kept repeating that that sofa bed is only meant for a child. We tried explaining that it couldn't even hold the weight of 2 year old, and that my daughter-in-law only got on the bed the second time to make sure that it won't collapsed on my granddaughter again. We also tried explaining that the hotel staff came up and confirmed that there was a problem with the sofa bed. However, the front desk staff refused to listen and kept repeating what she had to say. So we told her that we will just report this to the corporate. Problem 3. The hotel failed to provide proper instructions regarding sofa bed. We were never told that the sofa bed was only for a child when we checked in. Also, there was no sign anywhere in the room telling us that the sofa bed is only for a child. When the staff came up and inspected the sofa bed, the staff never mentioned anything about the sofa bed being only for a child. (instead, she told us that there was a problem with the setup.) If they would have properly notified us, my daughter-in-law wouldn't have got on the sofa bed to check its stability. ibis Wuerzburg City Hotel, you have failed. A big time. You should be ashamed and train your staff better.

The room was very large compared to all the Ibis hotels we have stayed at.It was very comfortable. The breakfast was ample. The hotel location was away from the city center, but there was a very convenient bus stop close by. The hotel staff were all friendly and were willing to help. The staff provided recommendations on places to eat and made a reservation for a taxi to pick me up and drive me to the rental car company to pick up my rental car.
