This is a beautiful hotel, but as the main reason to stay somewhere is to sleep, relax and decompress, this hotel failed. It was quite hot in our room, and the front desk was unable to help as the air circulation system was not able to be switched from hot to cold air. It was very difficult to sleep. The shower was silly; there was a shower head aimed at your stomach or barely pressured water falling fixture directly overhead drowning you- it was so odd. You are not allowed to eat or drink anything from outside the hotel in their lobby; there are signs on each table. So, if I pick up a coffee and pastry from next door, I can’t sit in their lobby to enjoy it. There were other overlooked functional details: we had a Superior Twin room, yet there was only water glass and one chair. Location was very good! Staff was amazing, some more than others. Cameron especially attempted to make our stay as comfortable as possible, but I wouldn’t recommend it to others.

Excellent location in Bankside, easy walk to Tate Modern, HMS Belfast and Borough Markets. Easy hotel for a quick London stay.

Have regularly stayed at the Bankside Mecure for over 10 years. The rooms are small (it is London) but clean and the staff is always helpful. Where things have slipped are the overall booking experience (both website and app), and the general upkeep of the rooms. After I finally was successful making my booking, I had issues using my points (which the staff was eventually able to sort out but still took a lot of my time both before and during the trip). We also needed to change rooms after the first night b/c the thermostat was broken, so the heat wouldn't shut off so it was both hot and loud (plus we had our window open); again staff to the rescue with a new room, but it was an annoyance to repack after having just settled in.

The location was great, unfortunately the staff weren’t particularly friendly. My husband got walked in on whilst changing by cleaning staff, no knock, which was uncomfortable.
