Customer service was great. But the room itself smelt like something had died. Room itself was nice but the smell was horrendous

It was a bit noisy due to road works and some of the facilities, namely the room, needs a make over as they are old. We had a room in the second floor near the pool and the smell of pool chlorine was strong.

Hi Novotel Canberra Team, I wanted to share some honest feedback about my stay last night. There was a noticeable smell in the room and the bed kept making noises whenever I moved. On top of that, the road noise and constant horns throughout the night made it very hard to rest. I had shifted from Mercure Belconnen because this hotel was closer to the Multicultural Festival venue and I was celebrating my birthday - but unfortunately, it didn’t turn out to be a good decision. I’m an Accor Silver member and stay at Accor properties quite frequently. In fact, I already have a 10-day stay booked at an Accor property for my upcoming Indonesia trip. Based on this experience, I genuinely feel this stay did not reflect Accor standards, and I would not spend even a dollar for such a stay. Additionally, I went to the bar at around 9:50pm for my complimentary welcome drink. I understand it was close to closing time, but technically I was there before 10pm. The gentleman at the bar ignored me for a while even after noticing I was standing there. When he finally approached, he looked at his watch and made a displeased face, which I found quite rude and unwelcoming. I respect the efforts of your team, but this overall experience fell well below expectations. Given the circumstances, I trust the hotel will take appropriate responsibility and provide a fair resolution in line with your brand’s commitment to guest satisfaction. we had no power in 2 rooms for over 10hours. We then had no hot water, we checked out and cancelled the remainder of our stay
