My stay at ibis budget St Peters in Sydney was, without a doubt, one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. 1. It is almost impossible to sleep because of the excessive noise. You can hear absolutely everything from the neighboring rooms and the floor above — beds moving, toilets flushing, sinks running, pipes, footsteps — everything. The soundproofing is practically non-existent. 2. The cleanliness of both the common areas and the rooms is very poor. 3. I paid extra for early check-in, yet I was made to wait more than three hours before being allowed into my room. Completely unacceptable. 4. There is a strong sewage/drain smell in the reception area, which is very unpleasant. 5. They advertise laundry facilities, but the only washing machine available (for 105 rooms) was out of order. It’s ridiculous to offer a service that doesn’t even work. 6. I understand this is a budget hotel, but as part of the Ibis brand and the Accor group, they should pay much closer attention to these basic quality and maintenance standards. Overall, terrible service and a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this hotel.

Accidentally booked for the incorrect night on the Accor ALL iPhone app. Apologised profusely once I discovered my mistake, I offered to pay the difference in the room rate, but was bluntly told I’d need to make a new booking. So I ended up paying for two nights accommodation instead of one.
