We had stayed a few times in this typical Ibis hotel: fairly basic, but practical, good value, and fine for a short stay. And of course the location is fabulous: close to Kalvin Ter metro station, Raday street with its many restaurants, and close to other areas with lots of bars and dining options - and of course right next door to Budapest’s first Michelin restaurant (if that takes your fancy). Check-in was painless, the staff are very friendly and helpful, all with excellent English. The room was not very big of course, but with enough wardrobe space for a few days, a TV with foreign language channels, and decent aircon. The bed as always was very comfortable, just right for a good night’s sleep. There is no minibar or fridge in the room, and no in-room safe. The bathroom was tiny, but the shower was powerful, although the shower gel container hadn’t been refilled. Rooms overlooking Raday street can be noisy, so we always ask for a room at the back, but of course there is no view. Compared to previous visits we found breakfast a bit disappointing. Don’t get me wrong, there was still a reasonable choice of foods, but I think not as good as before. They were obviously short staffed; so when they ran out of cups and cereal bowls there was a lengthy wait for clean ones to be brought. Despite these few shortcomings we enjoyed our brief 2 night stay, and will no doubt return.

the staff at this hotel were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. Their standard of spoken English was very good indeed, despite it not being their first language. All-in-all, a very pleasant staff, made all the better by the staff - they were all a credit to IBIS. The staff even manged to get us 2 taxis for the transfer to the F1 Grand Prix, which took some doing as it was an incredibly busy day for the taxi companies and she had to try 4 different companies to secure us a ride. A great job.

As always with IBIS found the hotel to be clean and well equipped at a reasonable price. Staff greeted us with a smile and were helpful if needed. It is located right next to Kavin Ter metro station so makes travel easy to any locations in Budapest. Highly recommended this hotel due to its location. Even though it is close to the busy Kelvin Ter noise is at a minimum as it is located in a pedestrian street just off Kavin Ter.
