Stay was lovely, clean with basic amenties. Will highly recommend the hotel to think about placing water filters at each level in the lift area for self service of water refill. It's a real inconvenience to not have drinkable water. Otherwise, the rooms are great.

Had a lovely stay, very conveniently located, but had to pay for open car parking that was free on the street. Comfortable and clean rooms although someone dropped a picketer in hallway which wasn’t cleaned up for 2 days.

Unhelpful service for a solo mom with young kids I arrived around 8 PM for a late check-in with two young children and five pieces of luggage. Despite seeing that I was a mother traveling alone with two kids, the staff simply told me to move all the bags myself without offering any assistance or guidance. Coming here right after staying at Hilton Lake Taupo, where the service was exceptional, the contrast was disappointing. The lack of basic hospitality and helpfulness made our arrival unnecessarily stressful. I expected much better service from a hotel of this brand.

This hotel has the perfect location situated in the heart of Rotorua city. For us, the rooms need upgrading badly. Stains on the carpet, the furnishings & bathroom are 1970s and the smell of the room was old & damp. The pool is very small which is cramped in an area with 4 small spa pools. The gym is also very small which is located next to the pools and everything is in a class covered area, which means the ones in the pool can see you working out. Not the one if you don't want people staring at you from the pool area. We didn't try the restaurant as the hotel is next to many wonderful cafes, eateries & bars across the road. You have to pay for your parking at the hotel. Pay for it at reception. Don't scan the code because it charges you more per day. Other than our lovely view of the lake, we won't be staying at the Novotel again.

45 min wait for room service. The room was not very well cleaned with hair in the bath and on the walls in the shower (i have a shaved head, so not mine). The hotel was very noisy - not the fault of the hotel, but the domestic violence incident in the next room and children running up and down the corridor at night added to the over-all experience. The RS menu and the restaurant menu were both pretty limited, and my colleague and I felt the portions were small for the price. Also, meals that were supposed to come with salad came with chips.

Disappointed that the only room coffee is packets, Proper pod coffee at a minimum required (Nespresso) in rooms these days. Air Cond operation below average - did not cool.

The staff were helpful however we weren't able to book in till 5pm, as the room wasnt ready, which was very late considering it should be 2pm. The room felt dirty, especially the carpet. The bar was dingy and we were going to have dinner in the restaurant however we were told that it was busy and there would be a 40min wait for food. Not great. I booked into Novotel (prepared to pay extra compared to motels) as I thought staying in a more upmarket hotel would be a lovely luxury while waiting for my husband to have his hip operation. Unfortunately I was disappointed and feel that novotel needs a complete refurbish. Thank you

Was a nice comfy stay i did not get the upgrade of a Lakeview except I got a view of The carpark behind the hotel

Satisfied overall. We stayed just for 1 night. It is quiet. Kids had fun in pool. But you have to pay for wifi. It was free.
