We stayed as a family for the weekend. The rooms were fine, location good a short stroll to the shops. However we didn’t have a good experience in the restaurant Saturday night. Firstly the main menu is only Monday to Thursday. The weekend dinner menu was their All Day menu which was very limited choices of about 5 or 6 dishes. It states to ask about our child options. When I asked they said there aren’t any. I asked if we could also order from the Bar Menu. Was told no that’s not available either. We were a table of 4. The only people eating in the restaurant. They brought out 2 of our dinner meals, and after over 10mins wait I asked where the remaining 2 meals were (including the child’s dinner) and finally they brought them out. My child’s meatballs were cold. Having a restaurant on site is one reason we chose the hotel as it makes it easy when travelling with children, but I would NOT recommend eating at the restaurant here.

Lovely stay. Loved the free parking. I had a great meal at the restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful. Amazing breakfast. Room was nice except for the bathroom. The toilet and shower need replacing. It really didn't match with the rest of the hotel. The shower curtain is like a black out curtain and I ended up having a shower in the dark.

Rooms not refurbished as advertised. Damp smells, leaks, flaking paint, mould, and uncomfortable beds and bedding. Restaurant woeful and overpriced cater. Not up to Accor standard by long shot.

I am writing to make a complaint about my recent stay at Mercure Tauranga. When I made my booking, I reserved a room for two guests and paid for breakfast for both people. Unfortunately, only one person was able to travel. As the second breakfast would not be used, I asked reception if it could be refunded or credited. My request was declined. I then asked if the unused breakfast value could be used for room service instead, but this was also refused. I was disappointed that no alternative solution was offered. I was also unhappy with several issues during my stay: • Noise: The outdoor air-conditioning unit made loud noise throughout the night, making it very difficult to sleep. • Television: There was no pay TV available, even though I had planned to watch a sporting event. Had I know there was no pay TV with sports available, I would have booked elsewhere. • Chromecast: The Chromecast was not working. Reception confirmed there was an issue but could not provide a solution. As a result, I had to watch the game on my phone. I travel to Tauranga regularly and expected a much better experience from Mercure and Accor. Instead, I experienced poor customer service, problems with the room facilities, and a lack of support when issues were raised. I work in complaints management and understand the importance of listening to customers and resolving concerns fairly. For this reason, I would like this complaint reviewed by a Manager, who has the authority to address the issues I have raised. Please contact me to discuss what happened and how Mercure intends to resolve my concerns. I hope Accor and Mercure will take this complaint seriously and take appropriate steps to restore my trust.

The Mercure Hotel provides a comfortable stay for guests with lovely staff. However, there are a few things that could be improved. For example, there is no sink or running water in the mini kitchenette area. This would be useful when making hot drinks or eating food. I'm not too sure if it was just my room that didn't have one but would be great to have. Another thing is that the walls are very thin. I could hear music playing from the room on my right and people talking from the room to my left. There was also a loud noise throughout the night which sounded like a fan or air conditioning unit which wasn't pleasant.

The original price quoted was increased when we checked in due to “price fluctuation” policy. Never heard of that before. Room was on top floor which was confusing to find. Room was average with a noisy fridge, not enough bedding (cold), no water jug provided, toilet not flushing properly, not enough pillows for a king size bed, and the ironing board cover was not secured to the board so impossible to use.

Comfortable and well heated room. Nice selection of teas as well. Onsite parking very convenient. A little noisy at times during the night but not really the hotel's fault. Missed having at least one Sky Sports channel. But on the whole, a good night's stay. Thank you.

We don't live too far from Tauranga but had many things to do over 2 days. Once I booked our accommodation the communication was excellent. Fore warned that pool renovation had started but didn't bother us too much. Location for what we needed was excellent. Early dinner was required to enable us to get to an event. Highly recommend the lamb shoulder on the menu- devine! Clean, comfortable & Accor Explorer + membership was well worth having. Rate was good for the one night we stayed.
