This was our first trip away with my husband after an accident left him in a wheelchair. Wairakei was amazing in working with me to figure out how our stay would work as we needed more than "just an accessible room". The carpenter went above and beyond making wooden feet so we could raise the bed and use a hoist. All the staff were amazing, friendly and helpful and made this first trip away very stress free. Such a beautiful peaceful setting too - it was the perfect place for us. Thank you all so much.

Good location but unfortunately our room contained 2 water glasses and 2 teaspoons and 2 coffee cups. Never mind if you want to have cheese and crackers and a glass of wine before dinner at the onsite restaurant. I felt that for a resort the only option was to eat and drink in the resort facility. The room was basic. Nothing special about this place except The Body Firm Spa located on site. I pre booked and payed for my birthday holiday in advance and on leaving I was questioned wether I had paid or not... Not a nice feeling.
