I could hear the people in the other room through the connecting door. Every conversation. The front door also had a gap at the bottom which let in light and all the sound from the bar eg music and people in the hallway. I’m fine with the noise as it was a big rugby weekend but those two things let in so much noise. Beds were also small for 4 people.

I took my daughter down from Auckland to stay as a birthday treat. She hadn't stayed at Wairakei Resort before and loved it.
We walked into our lovely room and there was a plate of delectable delights with a card welcoming us. A lovely surprise.
Our room was spacious with a good sized balcony. It was lovely sitting out there having a meal and enjoying the countryside. It gave us a sense of peace away from the hustle and bustle.
We loved the pool at the top and the spa pool, although some of the bubbles weren't working very well in spa pool no 2. Just in one spot.
We love the walk down the bottom by the beautiful clear geothermal stream.
It is so nice to have space around us.
Unfortunately we booked the restaurant but cancelled as my daughter has a health condition and couldn't manage it.
Like the recreational facilities but didnt use them. We relaxed in our room and then we were out and about.
Friendly staff. The maids always smiled and said hello in passing.

Great if you are part of a big group and it is perfectly set out to hold everyone. For a couple wanting to get away for the weekend we did not find the experience that relaxing. The weather was stunning and we were looking forward to enjoying some sunshine from the porch but sadly we were on the wrong side of the building and only had slight morning sun for a couple of hours. As we were tucked away in the corner this was very limited and the chairs had to be wiped down before we could use them. Overall the room facilities were very clean and spacious.
