Was a great stay,food was great, the staff was great,the security people where amazing aswell as the Gigo,s...my only down fall was that only one lift was going which made things very hard for us aswell as the staff and the night manager whom allowed a group have drinks and a party down in the smoking area when as we where in isolation that was not permitted,they where very disruptive to the rest of us and the night manager let it happen . That was very disturbing..

Had to stay in Ibis Rotorua for quarantine. The hotel staff were very helpful and polite. I don’t understand why people would try to escape quarantine if this is the service being provided.

It would like to say thank you to all the Hotel staff and Army personal that took care of us all. I was apprehensive about conditions from all the rumours I had heard regarding Covid isolation. The truth is it couldn’t have been more enjoyable and cannot thank the staff enough for there care and hospitality. In fact when Covid is over our group are coming back for a reunion. Thanks for everything and please pass this on to your staff.

I completed 14 day isolation there and thought it was very well handled. The Ibis staff were very friendly, helpful & accomodating. The health officials, army, security and all involved during my stay were fantastic, what I thought was going to be a stressful & mentally changeling time turned out to be very stress free & a great time with everything well organised.

I was transferred from the Ibis to the Novotel due to it being a Covid 19 Quarantine location. Having stayed here before was looking forward to the stay. I found the staff welcoming and it was clean & tidy. However it appeared a bit tired and at times understaffed . I had an issue with my room that I requested resolved on my arrival, was in for 5 nights and still was not addressed. I was also concerned that in the Gym, no sanitizing wipes available. The container missing on the wall? Hand sanitizer was present but this was for personal use not equipment. In the present environment this concerned me.

The group I arrived with made my isolation stay one of the best times of my life. They kept me sane and laughing through the whole experience. The Army teams (there were 2 teams) were courteous, helpful and friendly at all times, as were the Security team too. However, I was extremely annoyed and frustrated with the Hotel Night Manager on Sunday 9th August who allowed members of Group 3 to drink alcohol in the public area (from approximately 4pm - 6.30pm) - namely the smoking area - under the guise of celebrating getting through one week of managed isolation. When I called Reception to complain this Manager had the audacity to tell me it is "at the discretion of hotel management" to allow this behaviour!! When I pointed out that the Ibis Rotorua Welcome leaflet (signed by Edward Judd, General Manager) clearly states under SALE OF ALCOHOL "All alcohol is to be consumed in your room and NOT to be consumed in public areas such as the smoking or exercise area", she quickly advised me that the Army team were on their way down to the basement to "break up" this celebration. Turns out that the Police were called to break up Group 3's celebration instead. I am very disappointed to realise that this particular Ibis Rotorua Manager does not seem to have even read or understood the leaflet you distribute to your managed isolation guests. Further, this Manager has obviously failed to see the notice at your Corner Shop clearly stating again that alcohol is not to be consumed in the basement. Perhaps she needs to be thoroughly re-trained on proper Managed Isolation Facility procedures.

Was good, beef & lamb meals the meat was too tough, but staff, nurses and authorities were so polite and helped a lot. Glad we had an area to do exercise and get fresh air. Need more than 2 vouchers per person for laundry, especially for hygiene reasons as well.

The staff at the hotel/ army/guards were excellent. The accomodation was also great. The only problem was the food was not good and in particular the vegetarian. The wifi was also very bad when trying to work so hotspot was my only option during my stay

Thank you to the staff for your awesome service, however I did experience a few hiccups with meal delivery, but I understand the task was mammoth. Great meals, and prompt service from the housekeeping staff. Highly recommended.

Unusual circumstances due to the pandemic but the hotel experience was smooth sailing overall. Staff kept me well informed, were well organised with procedures and information packs (for anything I forgot), and lots of contact throughout the first week which made me feel less alone as a single guest. The hotel was well set up, not once did I feel any risk to my health and well-being. Notices were up around the building for example “one bubble in the elevator at a time”, Pads were on the ground to ensure good social distancing, sanitisers and masks were well supplied and there was good outdoor facilities with lots of space to walk around. Staff that deserve special mention were Shontel (reception staff), Rangi (with a wealth of information about politics and news in NZ), and one woman who worked behind the cafe and delivered breakfast each morning - always set a great tone for the start of the day with her positive voice. Also, other staff in the cafe were knowledgeable about the wine and many other staff members whose names I don’t know were friendly, kind and considerate. On leaving and as an Accor Member - told staff I forever more would be a loyal member to the Ibis hotel Rotorua because of the care undertaken during my stay there.

I stayed in the hotel between 6th and 20th July under managed isolation. I was apprehensive about how I might cope on my own for two weeks, but your staff were incredibly friendly, approachable, and helpful. The food was very nice; my clothes were beautifully laundered, and front desk and room service staff were always happy to help, even providing me with a sewing kit, and plasters for my blistered feet, when I needed them. I particularly wish to commend Harieta (sp?) on the front desk, who was just delightful, but every member of staff I came into contact with was just lovely. It felt like being part of a very big, supportive family! I will never forget the overwhelmingly positive experience of being quarantined at your hotel and hope to return one day as a voluntary guest!

To be honest my 2-week isolation would've been much more terrible if it weren't for the hospitality of each and every staff member that helped everyone during isolation. Very friendly and checked up on us frequently.
