The stay was just an overnight stop on our way towards Dordogne. Saint Nectaire is very pretty and I feel that the hotel could better take advantage of it's position and size in the area. The hotel could really be lovely if it was better cleaned. The public areas had dirty and greasy mirrored coffee tables and the floor was left with crumbs and unvaccuumed. The brass banisters on the staircase were very grubby and while our room was overall very clean the shower tray had yellow scum that could easily be cleaned off and was a downfall of the room.

Our room had clearly and successfully been refurbished, although not yet with air conditioning and the fan, provided, didn’t work. There was an odd bit of metal just left in the room. The spa pool was lovely but the decor tired. Water jets didn’t work. It’s a poor choice to make Hammam and Jacuzzi only available at an extra cost. The food in the restaurant was decent, but service was slow - a small cohort of staff doing quite a lot. Tables & chairs are a little out of place in the elegant surroundings they’ve bee placed in.

Incident occurred during the night. Drunken guests banging on a door in the corridor during the night from 2:30 until about 4 am. Guest was agressive when we asked him to be quiet. No staff on duty overnight. Totally spoiled our Christmas Eve night and Christmas Day as we were so tired from not sleeping,

The hotel in its day must have been truly magnificent. Today, it's a little scruffy, a little bit rough and not quite what we expected. The staff were brilliant, helpful, understanding (of my very poor French speaking) and knowledgeable. The rooms, big and almost but not quite a little but dirty. Not so much as you'd complain, but enough to make you want to keep your shoes on and limit the time in the shower. The pool, looked great. But again little bit scruffy and not enticing close up. The spa (indoor pool and sauna) nice, but the pool looked quite opaque, like it had gone past its best. Breakfast was a good selection, the hot items looked cold and uncooked, so gave them a miss but a good selection of pastries and the cheese selection is a good as you would expect.

Depuis des années, nous sommes des clients fidèles des hôtels Accor (Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure, Ibis). Avec la carte Silver, ma femme et moi avons toujours eu droit à un verre de bienvenue dans tous les hôtels, sauf cette fois au Mercure Saint-Nectaire (nous en avons également profité à d'autres occasions, dans le même hôtel). Je trouve inconsidéré qu'un couple en chambre double n'ait droit qu'à un verre. Cela peut paraître ridicule, mais c'est quand même inconsidéré

Accueil téléphonique : mauvais. Très longue attente. Nous avons été obligés de rappeler plusieurs fois avant d'avoir quelqu'un au bout du fil : 12 mn d'attente, après trois appels
Accueil hôtel : médiocre. De plus, on nous a fait payer de suite , dès l'arrivée, la taxe de séjour et le surplus pour notre chien.
Restaurant : service au-dessous de tout - incompréhension de notre commande, (nous n'avons pas pu obtenir l'apéritif demandé alors qu'il figurait sur la carte), longue attente, Ensuite, on nous a servi tout à la fois : un seul apéritif pour deux commandés (sans cacahuètes ni autre), les deux verres commandés pour accompagner le repas, et l'entrée !!! nous n'avions jamais vu ça. Ensuite, après l'entrée, la serveuse est venue nous voir pour nous demander si l'on avait déjà eu le plat principal ??? C'était elle qui faisait le service, non ? Nous aurions pu l'avoir deux fois ? heureusement, la cuisine était bonne, seule satisfaction.
La chambre : non climatisée par cette chaleur, non insonorisée alors qu'elle donnait sur la rue.
Aucun moyen pour dissimuler la lumière, le rideau ne couvrait pas totalement la fenêtre. Tant que l'éclairage public est resté allumé, il faisait jour dans la chambre
Bref : au téléphone, vous faites une publicité monstre pour les hôtels Mercure, qui normalement lont très bonne réputation, mais là, vraiment, nous avons été très déçus et insatisfaits.
Par contre, lors de notre départ, l'hôtesse à l'accueil a été parfaite.
