Entry to the car park was hampered by the inconsiderate parking of other road users unconnected with the hotel and the steep and winding ramp is not for the faint-hearted! Once checked in the hotel fully met our expectations - it is wonderfully central, the staff were helpful, the room comfortable and the breakfast buffet plentiful.

Great breakfast-tricky parking

The daily breakfast buffet was outstanding-better than the four star hotel where I am currently staying. Our room fronted the main street which meant that the window had to stay closed. Entering the parking was tricky. Leaving the parking was difficult due to the narrow passage and very tight turn.

A Ibis hotel with good size rooms friendly staff and a excellent breakfast buffet and its portion is ideal for visiting Coimbra. A word of warning it’s car park is very tight to get in and out off if you have a medium to large car.

modern and clean hotel conveniently situated in the city, check-in and check-out was hassle free, staff very friendly and helpful. During our first night stay the hotel heating was not working and the room was chilly, we were given a blanket by the staff. The second night the heating in the room was working.

The location of the hotel is great, but the building and interiors are very old and cheap. Bed is very unconfortable, and breakfast was a bad experiece. There was only one waiter to replenish all the buffet.

The Hotel has a good location, on the river and very close (10 minutes walk) to the City Center, where there are many good Portuguese Restaurantes. One small warning, if you have a large car, do not attempt to park your car in the Hotel parking. There are some very tight corners.... However, if I have business in the city, this is an excellent Budget! hotel.

They take groups, so when a group checks in, it is noisy as lobby is small. Staff was overwhelmed. Better for individual travellers. Mattress is comfortable but single beds are narrow and so only ok for short stays. Showers work. Ibis should provide at least one hand towel & a small box of tissue. These dont cost much.

Overall experience was excellent. Great location, nice facility and hardworking and friendly staff. Housekeeping and breakfast staff were also excellent. The breakfast was very good. The only reason I did not rate it a 10 is because the one coffee machine was insufficient. That is your primary bottleneck at breakfast, and there were always lines at the machine (and not all guests understand how to use it). Perhaps you could print a guide as to what the coffee product selections are, particularly for guests who are not familiar with how to order black coffee (Americano).

Thanks you for a lovely room with a view I'd the river. The nice woman at reception who checked us iin was apologetic about the wait to check in and the delay for the room as we'd checked in online and still had to wait. Thank you for being courteous. The staff member at the bar may have been feeling pressured as she was blunt and seemed unhappy. All the other staff, particularly at Breakfast were amazing. Thanks for a nice stay in your lovely city.
