One night stay for a work trip

Whilst the resort itself had some great offerings such as the Pool and Lagoon and Boats/kayaks etc, the overall service was poor. There is no way to order any drinks at all from the room or pool, you do have to go directly to the bar or cafe which is quite annoying when your room is quite a walk away. You can order food off a limited menu but having no access to beverages including simple WATER or softdrinks, is very disappointing. After travelling a long way in the heat and finding no water or drinks available was rough. And when you do go to the bar - the staff clearly don't want to be there. They have no enthusiasm at all and are quite sour. At about 10.40am I went to get a drink at the bar (even just softdrink/water). The bar was setup and there was no signs advising they were closed - i stood waiting for 10 minutes, no one around until eventually a surly young man came over and quite rudely asked what I wanted and told me they are closed and don't open until 11, then walked off again - a whole 5 minutes to 11 by this point. Every other staff member we came across was much the same - didn't seem to want to be there, side from 2 blokes in the activities shed by the pool who were quite lovely. Outside of that, service was absolutely poor and again, no access to drinks when your room is quite far away is terrible. The rooms need some TLC - first glance they look quite nice however there were holes in walls hidden behind stickers, cracking all throughout and a staircase was constantly slippery and covered in water from a giant hole in the roof that was in need of serious repair. Our first room the aircon wasn't working properly so we were moved upstairs - a downgrade if you ask me. However I think the biggest issue is that you have absolutely no control over the aircon. It is kept to 21 at all times and there is no way to make it cooler. As someone used to cooler weather and whom struggles with the heat- it was rough coming into the room after being in the sun and there being next to no relief. We did speak to staff and maintainence and their response was the same - it's preset and cannot be changed. Overall the pool and lagoon was quite nice and had lots of activities. But the stay and service itself was subpar. Not to mention- the fact that weekends are opened up for day passes so any guests staying and paying $$$ to stay get shunted - i would advise steering clear of the pool and lagoon amenities over the weekends and make sure you have bookings for both breakfast and dinner as you will get shunted due to the weekenders..

Resort is tired and needs some upgrades

The rooms are very tired and need an upgrade - curtains don't cover the edges of the windows, musty smell in our room, musty smelling doonas, fold out bed is extremely uncomfortable and lumpy for our two small children to sleep on. We got married at Twin Waters 8.5 years ago and other than the bar/foyer area there appears to be little to no money spent on upkeep since then. The jetty's are falling apart, some of the life jackets need to be thrown out, pool was full of sand on sunday morning and there is no reason a pool cleaner couldn't have been thrown in the pool overnight, there are trip hazards all through the resort with cracked concrete.
