We booked this hotel due to its location to the Stadium for a concert we were attending. It looks really grand as you walk into the lobby, staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful, Parking was 20 Euros per day, however we were told about a discount which made it 20 euros for our stay of 4 nights. Parking is downstairs and secure. There were many signs around apologising for work being done. Our room was level 5 it felt quite gloomy and very old fashioned. Our room was nice enough, there was a nice size bathroom, although the shower was problematic and we had to guess if our head or body would be sprayed with freezing cold water. There was constant banging, drilling and work noises until 6:30 each day, even on weekends. I certainly wouldn't have booked this hotel had we known. We had issues with our key card, they tried to blame our phone, or security in the concert, (we hadn't taken it out the car) each time we went to the room the card wouldn't work. We had to have around 10 cards reproduced during our stay. The staff we charming, it was nice hotel, but it could be much better.

I was assigned with an old room at the 3rd floor, with no coffee machine, no slippers, no body lotion and noisy AC that I could turn on during night. The sheets had a bad smell and the blankett a stain on it. I found black hair on the floor of the bathroom

Service was friendly and the receptionist certainly wanted to be helpful but when ordering a taxi for 4.15am she wrote 4.25. When I attempted to clarify, she said it was definitely 4.15 but the following morning we were told it was booked for 4.25, which was worrying (in the event the taxi arrived early anyway but this was an unnecessary worry). As many people have said in previous reviews, the policy on air conditioning is utterly preposterous. Ours was stuck at the absurdly high level of 24.5C. What’s the point of having controls in every room if the temperature is set by quasi-Soviet diktat? To excuse this as Government sustainability policy as opposed to simple cost cutting is, frankly, disingenuous, especially given it is not a policy adopted by other hotels in Madrid. The hotel looks tired in many respects and I was surprised that the only soap available in the bathroom was in the shower; there was none at the wash basin: a uniquely inconvenient arrangement in my experience of many hotels.Given how early we were having to leave for our flight, we were very grateful for the packed breakfast, which arrived in good time and was perfectly adequate. It was also pleasant as an Accor gold member to enjoy our free drink in the bar. With more thought and investment, this could be an excellent hotel, worthy of the Pullman name.
