Overall old fashioned hotel. The restaurant which is so-called renovated looks more like a factory cantine than to a restaurant. I used to stay in the Sofitel Madrid Airport every month, but no more. The hotel is not at all up to date anymore.

Broken Down Old Hotel Badly in need of Modernization and Repair

The room I stayed in had many marks and scratches on the wood work/closet doors, the door frame was separated from the wall and held in place by an exposed nail. There was no available electrical outlet by the bed (unless I pulled out the end table and unplugged the lamp.) There were no USB ports for charging electrical devices. There was not coffee maker or kettle to make a morning cup of coffee. I prepaid my room and never the less the front desk twice (at check in and check out) told me I needed to pay for the room. I registered online for "touchless check in/out" and gave a credit card against which a hold was placed of EUR 50.00. Never the less, the front desk told me they could not access that card information I pre-registered with, asked me for a credit card at check out and charged it putting a second hold on my credit card account. All in all this hotel's operations were very disappointing and not what I expected from a chain that wants you to believe they are a top of the line organization.

Strictly poorer value than the adjacent Novotel.

I stayed at both the adjacent Novotel and the Pullman, and for the much higher rates, the Pullman was quite disappointing. There's really no excuse for charging more or slightly higher-finish (but less attractive, actually) rooms, while also losing such amenities as coffee/tea, water boiler, etc. Additionally, the WiFi was consistently significantly poorer compared to the Novotel, and it was ridiculous for the more "premium" Pullman branded property to have the same very disappointing room service menu. Service and staff were good; no complaints there, and probably better than the Novotel.
