The hotel is well located near the train station (the area around the train station looks a bit neglected by the city council though). The hotel is overall comfortable: the breakfast was generous with many options and the room was tidy. The room was however quite small and the paint of the bathroom ceiling was peeling off. Unlike other Ibis hotels where I've stayed in France and Australia, the room didn't have a fridge or a kettle. There was no way to control the temperature in the room. It seemed to be central heating without a thermostat in every room to adjust the temperature. The room felt especially warm for the first 2 days of my stay.

I myself did not stay at the Ibis Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof. I booked a double room for one night for friends who came for a visit and were leaving by an early train the next day.

An unfortunate failure of the hotel's air conditioning system meant a very uncomfortable stay on one of my two nights; fixed next day. Also, it would be very helpful if you could provide facilities for making tea/coffee in the room, or in the lounge by Reception. Otherwise, I enjoyed my visit. Helpful staff, good breakfast, comfortable room (aside from being too hot), good lifts, clean.

Had a nice stay at this hotel close to the train station. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The check-in procedure was smooth. Luggage storage was available. The room had a large bed, a desk and space to hang clothes. The breakfast was great, but it would be nice to see some more dietary options, such as gluten- and lactose free. Overall a great stay and would recommend others to stay here.
