1. You state that booking a Privilege room comes with the following “Comfort Features Shoe polisher, Slippers, Opening windows, Alarm clock, Soundproof room, Double Glazing, Soundproof doors, Blackout Facilities, iPhone/iPad docking station, satellite television and exclusive high-end Mercure bedding...” 2. The bed mattress and pillows very hard and made it very difficult to sleep. If they were memory foam, they are nothing like the memory foam mattress and pillows we have at home. 3. The Duvet was not a summer duvet; that is low tog. This added to the inability to sleep and necessitated taking the duvet out of its covering. 4. The noise from the air conditioning meant that it had to be turned off at night. 5. There were no extra pillows or different style of pillows. 6. There was only 1 cushion. 7. The soundproofing is inadequate. For most of the Friday night there was loud noise from motorbikes going up and down the road. 8. The bathrooms need a complete refurbishment. The shower when in use spills over on to the floor, the paintwork is in poor condition, there are holes in the wall and a black area on the edge of the bath. 9. The furniture was damaged with more than just wear and tear. 10. Television with satellite channels only had French channels. 11. Only one room had an iPhone/iPad docking station. 12. We were overcharged and then had to wait 3 days to be reimbursed. Doubling a bill is not a minor error and an apology should come with a goodwill gesture. Overall: poor and not value for money. A very disappointing stay. We were so looking forward to staying for what we thought would be a comfortable and restful stay; it was anything but that. Sadly, we will not be staying again and we will not recommend this hotel as a place to stay in Angers.

It is such a pitty you did not come to us to report how you felt about your stay. Be assured that our team is here 24/7 to resolve any problem that might occur. Concerning your bill, indeed, the week-end of triathlon was a very busy week-end but it does not excuse the mistake we did and as previously expressed to you in our emails, we offer you our most sincere apologies for that incident. We always advise our guests to come by the front desk to proceed to their check out, this way we can double check your invoice together and make sure it is all in order instead of charging the card by distance. When you emailed to inform us about the billing mistake, we immediately created a refund file and sent it to our accountant. Usually, refund files take about 10 working days to be effective, we have asked our accountant team to be as effective as possible as we do understand this can be challenging while traveling, even just for the weekend. I would like to inform you that a complete refurbishment is planned for the end of the year, we will renovate all rooms and common areas and add more services. We do hope to have the chance to welcome you back at that time and provide you with the level of service you deserve. Once again I present you my sincere apologies for all the inconveniences you face, and I might repeat myself but please do let us know when something is wrong during your stay so that our team can handle it for you. the hotel is a bit old. toilets are not working properly (i have been in 2 different rooms). When I asked for a late checkout as a gold member it was first refused, then finally accepted up to 1 pm.

At Mercure, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. About your upgrade request, this is a benefit that we offer with a great pleasure to our guest ALL loyalty card holder only according to availibilities. When you phoned, 10 minutes before the usual check out time, we unfortunetaly were enable to meet your request because we were full the night after. That is the reason why we allowed 1 hour more, in order to satisfy you despite our context. After our response, you were angry and we understand your disappointment. We just want to remind you rudeness and disrespect don’t help to find a solution. Our staff don’t deserve such an unpleasant reaction after we try to provide the best service we can every day to all our guests. It was nice. Rooms were large which in France seems to be a rarity. I like lots of ice for my Drinks in the room and lots of ice was definately supplied. this is a big thing for me especialy in a country that does not seem to use ice in their drinks or give it out freely at Hotels.

The staff in the hotel were very good a and accommodating and gave excellent customer service However the bedrooms are very poor, and greatly in need of being refurbished, just because you put WiFi docks and coffee machines in the room it does compensate for the very poor condition of decoration and general upkeep of the room, the bathroom was particularly very poor, bath sealant black and mouldy. Skirting boards very dirty, built up over several years , room very small. The room being on the front overlooked the area people smoke in outside the front door, conversations at 2.00 in the morning from smokers was not needed All in all not a good experience so much so we will not be staying in a Mercury again, I have cancelled a further stay at a Mercury later in our trip on the state of this hotel Mercure used to stand for quality, however certainly not so today Mike W.

Quiet option when passing through

Too far from the centre to be a good option for tourists. Fairly easy to access from freeway network, right beside a shopping centre. It was quiet but far from full so hard to judge. Restaurant closes some nights so check if you wish to use it. An older property that is probably close to refurbishment time.

On The Outskirts of Town But Very Good

The Mercure is a little way out of town but it is on a very convenient bus route to the center. At the w/e the restaurant is closed for dinner but they were able to provide a really excellent "snack" which actually comprised a pate starter and a risotto. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay.

We knew we were booking a Mercure in a commercial zone that caters to business people on a Sunday night, so we knew the restaurant would be closed. The room, though a bit worn, was clean, nice-sized, and the bed was comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was no electricity near the bed, but an extension cord was readily available from reception. Breakfast was a full buffet and well-tended. We enjoyed our stay and slept well.

Everything is OK except not working air conditioner. Location is not so good if you want to see a castle or other things. Maybe this hotel is for just business stay. Breakfast was totally OK. Just near by, there is big supermarket.

Situated on the outskirts of Angers close to the Grand lac du Maine. We walked to the town centre (45mins) and visited the chateau. Helpful receptionist. Comfy room, great shower. Good choice for breakfast and news sheets for various nationalities. Dinner excellent and great value. Also a good bar.

We wanted to spend a night in Angers and chose the Mercure as it had secure parking. It is right next to a shopping centre but is not far from the city centre, easy to find, is right next to the ring road and is quiet. We ate in the restaurant in the evening as we were tired and were delighted with the dinner- it was delicious and very well presented and not expensive. The staff were delightful too.
