I spent few nights at Mercure Hotel Hamburg City with my family for a short city break. Overall, the hotel experience was great. Staff members were exceptionally polite and helpful from the moment we arrived. The front desk team processed a free-upgrade room as a welcome back in a smooth manner. Our junior suite was spacious, featuring a very comfortable queen sized bed and a lovely view of the Mittel Kanal. Breakfast was also perfect. We are regulars at Mercure Hotel Hamburg City and we appreciated the exceptional hospitality.

Rather than a free minibar would have prefered breakfast to be included in the room price or else for it to be at least half the price quoted. I'm not someone who eats a huge quantity of food at breakfast so the twenty six euro price is excessive. We paid it on the first morning so we could join our son and family who were staying in the same hotel and because it was my birthday. The breakfast selection was good, however for twenty euros we were able to buy breakfast for two at a nearby cafe which was of a high quality even if the choice was not as extensive

Check-in was a little confused over twin bed Vs double bed but it was quickly sorted out as most rooms seem to have a fold out sofa bed so I think any room can be made into a twin room. Once checked in the rooms we had (one on the 2nd floor, one on the top) we pretty luxurious and well decorated. Older reviews seemed to suggest the hotel needed refurbishment... It looks as though this has happened as both our rooms looked very freshly decorated. Decor in room is themed on ports and shipping containers which is entertaining though the shipping container-style doors on the wardrobe and 'fridge were a little awkward at times. We weren't disturbed by any noise, even with the windows open. Downstairs there's a decent bar - we didn't try dinner but breakfast, though expensive , included everything you could want in an all-you-can-eat buffet. It's about 20 mins walk from the Hbf and town centre, so not the most central We'd happily stay again in this grand building.

The rooms are OK for the price. The staff is very service minded. The restaurant is terrible - miserable food and high prices. Café Irma is a 4-minute walk away and has better+cheaper brekfast. Location is a little outside the city center. You have to take the bus for 2-3 stops to be at the center.

This is a nice hotel with good restaurant and easy access to Hammerbrook railway station. My only complain was no ability to hake a hot drink in your room at night

the room was nicely cleaned every day, even windows were cleaned. facilities are ok, with an unpleasant smell in the garage level. client facing staff (reception, restaurant and bar) were unfriendly so we avoided to use their services.

The reception staff who welcomed us were very friendly and helpful, and immediately put us in a good mood The only thing I could complain about is that the water pressure in the shower is a bit low. But I’d call that ‘complaining on a high level’

Had booked 2 rooms as we were coming to Hamburg with the broader family for sightseeing. Felt immediately welcome by the friendly and helpful staff - they arranged to get us our rooms despite the early arrival, so that we could freshen up before we explored the city. Great to be able to leave the 2 cars in the underground parking, especially taking into consideration the parking situation in HH in general. Rooms (junior suite) were really spacious and perfect for a family for an overnight stay. While slightly off the main center of HH, easy accessibility overall
