I’d paid for early check in and was given my keycard but upon trying it on the room door, it flashed red. Back down to front desk to ask them to reactivate my key. A young man called Sam asked my room number so I showed him my info on the card wallet, to which he announced my room number aloud to a busy foyer. I politely told him I didn’t appreciate him doing so as I was checking in as a single female. Most hotels adopt the policy of NOT showing or saying your room number if you’re travelling as such. I went back to attempt to get into the room again but the door panel was flashing red again. Bear in mind I had booked for a weekend to attend a wedding so was laden down with luggge including clothes that needed hanging. I then noticed that the door wasn’t actually closed and was slightly ajar with the latch engaged (I assume by housekeeping). I pushed it open l, abs went in hesitant checking the bathroom etc to ensure no one was in there. Another safety concern. I’d paid for a room with one double bed, but the sofa was set up as a single bed and there was a fold up single bed set up too. This left no space whatsoever. Furthermore a metal teaspoon had been jammed into the electrical slot to leave the lights on in place of a key card! I called the WhatsApp number and Sam answered. I told him if the issues and said I wasn’t happy, and wanted to move rooms. He said they were full, but that he’d ask housekeeping to come as soon as possible to set the room correctly. I advised him I was hoping to rest, and shower…..two things I really didn’t feel comfortable or safe doing knowing a stranger could walk in at any point. Eventually he said he could offer me an upgrade to another room, so back down to front desk I went. I showed them the photos I had taken and got my keys to finally check in to a suitable room. Accor group, please update your safeguarding basics to ensure your customers can feel relaxed and safe when spending so much money on a 2 night stay.

Very busy, lots of parties, police banging on doors in the night, pool was busy, dirty and changing rooms untidy and locker doors hanging off, restaurant service was slow, would expect more given the cost.

Dear Erik, Thanks for your review. We are very sorry that it was unpleasant for you. The hotel is indeed quite busy, especially around vacation periods. This means the pool will be used quite extensively as well. We have the team check on the cleanliness regularly, but I am sorry if it was untidy when you used it. There was a police incident on Saturday night and the had to speak to a guest in the room next door to you. This was one room and one contact - but we apologise it disturbed you. We will share your feedback about the speed of service in the restaurant, so that this can be improved. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and I hope we can welcome you back and provide a better service in the future. Kind regards, Kai

Good sized room. Horrible drain well in bathroom. Leak by toilet. Disappointed that swimming could only be booked for half hour. Minimum should be 1hr

Dear Frances, Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased to hear you found the room to be a good size, but we’re very sorry to learn about the issues you experienced with the bathroom. This is certainly not the standard we aim to provide, and we will address the drainage and leak concerns with our maintenance team as a priority. Regarding the swimming sessions, due to safety regulations we can only allow a limited number of guests in the pool at any one time. To ensure all guests have the opportunity to use the facilities, sessions are therefore limited to 30 minutes. We do our best to accommodate everyone as fairly as possible and appreciate your understanding. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and provide a much-improved experience. Best regards, Nadiia

Assigned a room ( executive double ) and it was a fair old hike from reception. We also had to book a slot to use the pool which was bizarre as they managed to squeeze us in, but when we arrived there was nobody else there. The room was okay but nowhere near how it was sold. We were above the bin room and extraction fans which kept us awake most of the night. We couldn't open the window because of the smell and it was a very hot couple of days. The bathroom door doubles as the toilet door but didn't fit so there was no privacy at all and the small fridge smelt like sour milk. Breakfast, at £16 p.p was adequate at best and very very busy. Wouldn't return
