Arrived very tired and not feeling well after driving back from Port Douglas through torrential rain. Was looking forward to just unwinding for the night before flying home the following day. Went to reception to check in which was ok until I asked for a late checkout which was initiallly denied as "the hotel is busy". After asking again and mentioning that I am a Plantinum Member and repeat customer, George relunctantly reconsidered and I had to 'bargain' for a time. He was unfriendly, did not ecplain any hotel information and just gave me the keycards. I was feeling unwell and just wanted to go to our room which I did after parking the car. At least we got an accessible room as requested and appreciated the welcome amenity greatly. The room airconditioner needs fixing and only just took the edge off the room being too hot. We had a good night's sleep and breakfast was ok. We enjoyed our welcome drinks and the staff member was very gracious and helpful to my mum who uses a wheelchair. Things were soured when I went to reception to ask for assistance with our luggage from our room to be told "we can't help you and don't have a concierge service" by Brian. He was quite rude and condescending and I was actually stunned by his attitude. I have stayed at the hotel many times previously and luggage help has never been a problem especially seeing as my mother is mobility limited. I struggled with our baggage, took it to the car and then checked out which was terrible. Brian did not mention anything regarding charges or offer to email me the paid invoice. We left the hotel very disappointed with things and are reluctant to return. Another thing to mention is that all the disabled carparks were either bollarded or barricaded for some unknown reason and unusable. We really needed access to them and have an Australian Disability Carparking Sticker. Given all the above, I do not think we will be back soon sorry especially since we had a much better stay at the Pullman International a few days earlier when we initially arrived in Cairns

Rooms were clean and spacious, and the pool and food were amazing. I booked a package that included tickets to the aquarium, but I never received them. When I asked about it at reception during check-out, the receptionist didn’t seem to know anything about it. She laughed and said they never give aquarium tickets and asked me to show her where it said that in my booking. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry and had to leave. If the hotel offers packages like this, the whole team should be informed so guests can receive the service that was promised.
