Thinking about taking a new life step, a wedding experience is just around the corner, whether indoor in our ballroom & foyer or our outdoor lush gardens surrounding the pool area
The hotel looks dated, and the carpet did not appear clean. The room itself was okay, but I found hair in the toilet and shower, which was disappointing. The lift also felt dated.
I called reception to ask for our luggage to be collected, but no one came. At breakfast, hot drinks were served in paper cups, and the choice of food was limited.
Overall, the stay did not meet the standard I expect from Novotel. The cleanliness, service and breakfast all need improvement.

The loud music was completely unacceptable. An airport hotel is where people have a break and sleep for ongoing journeys. To have this music where many are sleeping is a strange decision.

The shuttle bus will pick you up once you contacted with the number, but note every 30 minutes is from the hotel to the airport i/o from the airport to the hotel. The reception guy is also very friendly, the hotel upgraded my room to a suite. The only problem is the hook of the curtain in my bedroom has fell down, so the curtain cannot be closed completely to affect my sleep. The breakfast is ok. Overall is ok to me.

Greetings.
I made a reservation through your platform for a one-night stay on September 16 at the Novotel Cairo Airport hotel. My wife and I were returning from London after a long and exhausting journey originating from Regina, Canada.
We arrived in Cairo at 12:00 midnight, extremely tired and exhausted. We went to the hotel, paid the reservation amount by credit card, and checked into the room.
Upon entering the room, we noticed the following issues:
1. The shower handle was loose from the hose, causing water to flow out of the hose instead of the showerhead.
2. The shower cabin drain was partially clogged, causing water to pool on the floor.
3. The shampoo dispenser was empty.
4. The conditioner dispenser was empty.
5. The bed sheet and pillow had a noticeable body odor/sweat smell.
6. The landline phone was making a disturbing noise, forcing me to unplug it so we could sleep.
7. The room window needed maintenance to seal and close properly.
8. The view from the window was facing a rooftop with air conditioning units.
I contacted the staff on duty, and they offered to send a maintenance technician. However, I declined due to how tired I was and my desperate need to sleep.
It is the hotel management's responsibility to inspect the rooms and ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness before handing them over to guests, rather than waiting for a guest to point out cleanliness and operational issues and then carrying out maintenance at the expense of their guests' rest and stay.
I kindly ask you to bring this matter to the hotel management's attention and compensate me for the inconvenience.

I made the mistake of selecting a hotel in Cairo called Novotel because it was close to the airport. They also reassured me that they provided a shuttle to the airport every 30 minutes. Of course, in practice they didn't do any such thing and the shuttle bus was late and followed no fixed timetable. When it came time for me to leave Cairo I trusted them instead of all the hawking taxi drivers constantly hassling everyone. The hotel shuttle bus was late taking a group of us to the airport and I feared the worst.
At Cairo airport, when I arrived, we were already late and were met by a huge mass of people trying just trying to get into the Departures area:
The line/queue to enter was terrible. People ignoring the queues altogether and not enough staff.
It took me an hour to get though. I had no checked baggage but others had up to 5 or 6 large suitcases on a trolley that all had to be scanned.
When I got into the Departures area there were no information points, no rep Ethiopian Airlines and nobody to ask about anything. I walked around all the check-in desks looking for a check-in or screen for Ethiopian Airlines. The big display boards displayed an area to go to but when I got there I found nobody and nobody to ask.
Eventually I went to another check-in counter for Egypt Air. They were friendly but could not help. He said I was late and Ethiopian Airlines were closed.
By this time I was being followed by a huge number of Ethiopian customers with mountains of huge bags all doing the same and looking for an Ethiopian check-in counter.
I stranger said he would help and seemed to be known by the Egypt Air guy who said he could be trusted. In Africa we call such people blockers. He was displaying no ID so I was wary.
He took my passport and I reluctantly handed it over while watching it and him closely and he said to follow him. By now there were about 30 people behind me, most of whom had huge numbers of suitcases on trolleys. He took all their passports too and shouted for them to follow him.
He took us to lots of officials who started making notes of all our passport details by hand. He even took us between floors in a lift. I stuck to him like glue to ensure that I did not let my passport out of my sight. He was clutching about 30 passports by now.
I finally found someone who said that because we had no flight booked we could not be in the Departures are and we were not allowed out either because security procedures are designed to allow people IN and not OUT.
But we could not get out because we would not enter the Gates area because we had no Boarding passes.
So it seemed that the blocker agent was trying to avoid us being left in no-mans land and was finding a secret, unofficial, way out of the airport!
All 30 of us went all over the place pushing our bags on trolleys (except me as I was wise enough to travel with no checked baggage). Bear in mind that there was no official in the airport to help us because it was past midnight.
Eventually we opened an unmarked door that led to Baggage Reclaim! From there we could finally exit the building! This was particularly galling and ironic for me as I had no checked baggage because I wanted to travel light with just a cabin bag. But other Ethiopian customers were in tears when they were told that they had to book another flight. I was lucky because my UK bank helped me with a temporary overdraft facility that allowed me to borrow funds to buy another ticket for the following day and I could afford to pay for another night at the hotel.
I spent all morning the next day on the phone to the U.S. (I think) trying to re-arrange my flight. When I agreed to pay they sent my a payments link on my email so that I could pay and get new tickets.
The link didn't work on my laptop and so I had to call them again. We went through the process multiple times with new emails and new payment and me trying via a VPN or no VPN.
Between phone calls I wondered what I would do if I could not leave the country or stay at the hotel indefinitely. Eventually a senior agent in Ethiopian Airlines figured out that my UK bank was declining my payment because they were trying to process it in Egyptian Pounds. He changed the payment to US dollars and the payment worked! Even though I had to go overdrawn at the bank to cover it.
So I spent the day at Novotel and went though the whole process of trying to catch a flight to Addis again the following night and I was determined to get to the airport 6 hours early.
This was even worse. The Novotel receptionist re-assured me that their shuttle bus would leave on time and I made him promise that it would be so. But when it came time to depart for the airport I was joined by about 30 guests and we all waited patiently in the bus driver to appear. He had disappeared and never came back! Like many other guests waiting on the bus I returned into Novotelreception and explained that we were already late (again) and were in danger of missing our flights (again). After about 30 mins of stress we were told that the bus driver had gone home!
At least he had left the bus outside the hotel with the keys still in it. The hotel had to call another driver.
So, eventually, we all set off again and, because we had left much early earlier than the day before, when reaching the airport we found that there was an even bigger queue of people trying to get through initial security.
It took me two hours to get into the building. Once inside I looked in vain for an Ethiopian Airlines counter but there was no sign of any Ethiopian Airlines presence, staff, or representative. The flight was displaying on the big boards but there were no TV screens behind any check-in desk that suggested that the airline even existed.
I eventually discovered that Ethiopian Airlines were part of an organization called Star Alliance and that the groups name was displayed on some (but not all) screens. None of use knew that and once again some customers were in a state of severe distress because there was no screen displaying Ethiopian Airlines.
I eventually got to a counter with an Ethiopian Airlines representative (I think) and he was fine and issued me with my Boarding Pass with an hour to spare.
I obviously will not be attempting to make this trip to Cairo again.

We liked the stay overall.
The location and the direct shuttle bus service to the terminals are great.
The food varieties offered in the dinner and breakfast were great.
The only downside was an electricity cut incident that wake me up in the early morning. Where the AC was turning on/off every few minutes at 6 AM.

I had a 1night stay during a stop over. I requested for a special message for my son as it’s his birthday. Wow they decorated the beds super cute and gave a large cake as a surprise. It was such a pleasant stay and beds were super comfy. Staff were genuinely so helpful too. I would highly recommend and go back my self. They even had a shuttle bus that takes you to airport, that was very convenient.
