To be honest, at the price you charged ($710 a night), the room (453) was very ordinary. The bathroom is run down and the room is bland. I’ve stayed a few times and my general take is that you spend cash on the foyer, but no where else. You have the luxury of being the only hotel in town so until that changes, I guess you’re safe.

Dear Chris M., Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay. We regret to learn that the room did not meet your expectations, particularly concerning the condition of the bathroom and overall ambiance. Your comments about the investment in the communal areas are duly noted. We strive to provide a memorable experience for all our guests, and your insights will be taken into account as we continue to enhance our offerings. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future. Sincerely, Manly Pacific Hotel Sydney - MGallery Collection

Dirty! For $700 per night (on a Black Friday special still too expensive) I expected clean bedding. This is outrageously unhygienic and an I'm.ediate turnoff making it hard to enjoy our stay. We had sand in one bed and a brown smudge on a pillow case on the other bed plus hair on another pillow, therefore we did not get clean bedding. That is a minimum of what I would expect from a hotel room. We only discovered the filth on getting into bed at midnight on night one when it was too late for housekeeping as they would be gone. My children fell asleep while waiting for me to contact reception as I wished to have a quick shower first . By then they were already in the beds sleeping for the night so we put up with it unfortunately. The breakfast buffet has a permanent sign up saying at the pancake station the word "cream" yet there is a tiny bowl enough for 3 people and it never refilled. My children look forward to the pancakes but go hungry as the main topping is never there. They ask and I ask and are simply told the bowl is empty, yes we know, that's what we are telling you, we are asking for more, it's what we paid for! On one occasion I asked a chef who went and got a couple spoonfuls, showing that the wait staff were just lazy or not truthful, they just didn't want to get some. My son and I wanted a cup of tea at night before bed. He called for hot water to be brought up as we do not use the hotel room kettle, it stinks and we are told that guests boil their underwear in them, so we prefer not to be this close to other guests by sharing a kettle. Reception advised they would bring up 2 disposable cups with hot water. They brought up 2 tall glasses of hot water, giving them to my son at our door. He almost dropped them as he rushed to put them down. The glass was scalding hot and hurt him tomtouch let alone hold for 30 secs to find a spot to set down. There are hundreds of takeaway disposable cups at the hotel, both in the bistro and level 1 function room level in the meeting space and rooms plus next level conference rooms. This was again lazy, and dangerous! Irresponsible and not necessary when there are the cups everywhere? There are also barely any towels at the pool as noone rlchecks to replenish them so we have to wait for aloft and go all the way down to reception dripping wet, cold and exposed just to ask for a towel. Also the lifts on our level (2) take forever to arrive and often skipped our floor despite is pressing the button and it lighting up. We watched it always counting down and missing out floor. We would wait longer and give up, having to take the fire exit stairs which hurt our legs from all our walking and swimming. We weren't the only ones , we learnt it from another. This is poor form from the hotel. The hotel staff sawany doing it, but it doesn't get fixed, it's just become the norm/standard. When we arrived day one to enter our room for the first time, housekeeping were one step ahead on way to our room also, she let us in and explained she is just replacing a bottle of water and will be on her way. We didn't think anything of it. When we checked out a couple days later I was told that I used the bottle of water so would need to pay. I said I did not a thing in the fridge except the complimentary little milk for my cup of tea, and had to explain how the housekeeper explained she was entering our room to replace a bottle of water when we arrived. The water charge was taken off, however the confusion and awkwardness at the false accusation was uncomfortable . Surely there is a better system where this can be more accurate by the housekeeper than to incorrectly have the new guest charged rather than the guest who vacated that did in fact use it? What if reception did not believe me and make me pay for it? What happens then? There needs to be a better system by your housekeeper who put this on my bill, wanting the wrong guest to be charged because it seems the guest that drank it must not have been. Also when asked what we were celebrating on check in, I advised my son's graduation. It was then assumed he was 18, and only my young daughter was given a free mocktail voucher instead of both my children. My son is nowhere near 18 but was not given the mocktail voucher, which was disappointing. Kids can graduate at 16 when in yr 10, so the reception staff should not have assumed. He doesn't even look 18 so not sure why it was assumed he is an adult. He was disappointed to be excluded as we saw other children of families receive a drink voucher each. We therefore did.not use my free cocktail, or my daughter's free mocktail as it was not fair to my son. The fridge in the room is so jampacked full of the bottles the hotel wants us to buy, leaving no room should we wish to put something of our own in to keep cold and safe to eat. How disappointing and irresponsible of the hotel. It would be nice if there was room for guests items. Other hotels ensure there is ample space for guests items. For $695 per night I paid (and that was a special!) , I will not be coming back for the above reasons, particularly the dirty unhygienic bed, because that is unacceptable. We could bring home nits/lice and bedbugs from that , not to mention just gross to sleep with strangers bodily fluids and hair, plus scratchy sand from their dirty feet. I've stayed a few times and now Im questioning if the bedding was used each time. This the bare minimum expectation/standard that bedding be changed!! This is vile! It has made me so angry and disappointed as this is something I can't excuse as much as the other things! Gross! Also, I waited 25mins to check in , there needs to be more counter/reception staff as we pay thousands to stay and want to begin our stay as soon as possible. What is the point of checking in online? I was harassed by you on WhatsApp to do so, so I did the day before but there's no point. I still had to wait 25min at the counter to physically check in anyway to provide MasterCard and collect keys .please don't waste more of my time. And I've no idea why noone helps take our suitcases anymore. We were not offered by check in staff nor did any of the staff with available empty trolleys guided by a staff member I saw near the lifts, offer to assist us. Poor service. I don't know what's happened to this place . I also logged in for the wifi and it was so slow and glitchy I could not use it. I'm an Accor member and was supposed to get access to the "fast" type but I didn't.
