I was on a mercy mission as my partner was in hospital in Dreux. I rushed from Dublin to Dreux the next day l heard. I needed some helpful respite and care after visiting my partner in the hospital every day. This hotel gave me just that - the well organised bedroom which set out all my clothes, the space, comfortable bed etc. The buffet breakfast every day for 3 days was so healthy with lots of choice. But it is the staff who answered my questions and helped me store my extra luggage when l spoke bad french is what l will remember most. Extra help provided with lugs etc. So apart from a nice welcome interior which is casual and inviting to sit in the comfortable chairs/sofas - it is the welcoming nature of the staff which l treasured the most.

This was initially slightly unsettling to find as there was nowhere in the road, leading away slightly downhill from the station, to pull my car in and announce my arrival – I had to drive round the corner pretty late on a Sunday and temporarily leave/ park the car in a 'Payant' bay whilst I checked in and obtained from Reception the gate pass code for the off-street car park at the back. Check-in was reasonably easy (the only IBIS on my recent holiday which did not take payment until my actual check-in). The off-street gated parking was much appreciated. I slept well and I didn't hear any sound of trains during the night. The TV in the room worked well, to view the main French channels breakfast-time news. The breakfast was very pleasant and offered some local produce to enjoy with the various breads. Setting the egg-boiler was not immediately intuitive for a medium but still a partly soft-boiled egg – however one of the staff was very helpful with his assistance!

We were very delayed coming from England on the Eurotunnel and arrived at 0500! The hotel team were very welcoming and offered us a later check out in the morning, we will stay again.
