Our three-night stay at Peppers The Hills Lodge was very comfortable. The bedroom and bathroom areas were of a good size and were kept very clean. The shampoo, conditioner etc. were of a good quality. The buffet style breakfast was very good with better than average bread and spreads on offer. Undercover parking was a bonus.

This property fails to meet those standards. In addition to live cockroaches present in the accommodation (including inside personal belongings and the bathroom), the main living room light does not function, leaving the space inadequately lit and unsafe at night. Despite repeated requests, this issue was not properly resolved. The property is also subject to ongoing excessive noise, making it unsuitable for rest. As a direct result of the lack of lighting, my son became frightened at night and felt unsafe in the accommodation. The situation escalated to the point that I was forced to send him to his father’s home, which clearly demonstrates the seriousness of this situation and the impact on my child’s wellbeing. These issues together render the property uninhabitable, not merely inconvenient. Airbnb’s failure to take prompt and effective action after these matters were reported is unacceptable. If Airbnb does not immediately refund my payment or arrange suitable alternative accommodation, I will formally document and publicly report.
