Fine hotel but small changes could have made the stay much better. A rack to put my suitcase so that it didn’t have to stay on the floor. Additional hooks in the bathroom. There was nowhere to put my toiletries and hang a towel.

during a conference we paid a horrendous price. but there was no cleaning of the rooms ("we only provide accomodation"), no "leave luggage", the rooms spartan. the staff was friendly and couldn't do much, some were more helpful than others (we could leave our bags in a freely extended late check out). location is very good.

This hotel has a top notch location, it’s very central and easy to reach from the airport. I was upgraded to a bigger room facing the street and even my bathroom had a big window facing the city. There’s a filtered water dispenser on ground level, which you can use to refill your personal bottle, it was a nice and eco-friendly touch. The amenity products smelled really good and the sheets were of great quality. I also loved the modern furniture and the fact that the floor was not carpeted, which provides more hygiene. The room had its own air con/heating device and it worked really well. However, I absolutely don’t recommend front rooms to guests with sleeping troubles, because the curtains are not blackout type and the windows are not soundproof. Powell street is very illuminated and noisy as well, due to cable cars running from 8am to 10pm (or later). During late night you can also hear trucks cleaning the street or picking up garbage. Housekeeping was odd, one time I asked for cleaning at the front desk when I left the hotel on late morning/early afternoon and, when I got back to the hotel on early evening, it hadn’t been done. One other time, housekeeping knocked on my door at 7 or 8pm to ask if I needed housekeeping, that’s not the usual time for cleaning! It’s a really nice hotel overall, but it needs to get double-glazed windows and blackout curtains immediately, for the comfort of its guests
