I don't know where to start, just so beyond anywhere I've ever stayed, beyond a five star place. Emer (from Ireland) was so lovely, and made the wine reception on Monday extra memorable. The valet staff were so friendly, everyone was helpful in terms of directions and suggestions. Area directly around hotel, Ghiradelli Square, had adorable shops and nice dining options too. I will absolutely be back!

Garbage

Rooms are right above the garbage area, which holds all the trash from all the bars, ice cream shops, restaurants-- all the daily trash from the entire Ghirardelli Square. In early mornings well before 9am, bottles are loudly broken and thrown into a vehicle next to the garbage dump area. The glass breaking and throwing also happens in the late evenings, sometimes well after midnight. Finally, and Loudly, garbage trucks come early, 2 or 3 am.

We always love staying at this property. Service, location and residence style setup, make it the ideal place to stay with friends and family. This time we were joined by high school friends who we had not spent time with in years. Being able to gather in the comfortable living room or out by the Alcatraz/Bay view terrace fire pits was truly memorable. What adds to the experience is the feeling that you are on the bay but with easy access to North Beach, Russian Hill and Marina neighborhoods. The staff not only remembered us from prior stays but went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and valued.

Hotel staff not particularly friendly, (even short in staff when the lady from the reception comes to open the street door herself??) No breakfast at the hotel, ugh?? For a 5*, borderline not acceptable... No same day or overnight pressing service for suit/shirt, ugh?!? For a 5*.... I was in the 2 bedroom apartment which is supposed to be one of the best rooms.. and yet, no particular service... VERY disappointed overall

We are sorry that this was not the case during your visit. We also regret that the level of attention in your two-bedroom residence did not reflect the standards we strive to uphold. clean and spacious rooms with all amenities needed. A personal shopper would be a great addition for advanced groceries etc.
