When I arrive at Movenpick Living West Hanoi, I was warmly welcomed and checked-in by Vince. He acknowledged my Platinum status. I dined in the Executive Lounge, and the attention and service was superb! Chef Tien, staff Huong and Marcus all were very friendly too. Food was good, Pho was delicious.

1. Failure in Process and Communication I requested the Platinum laundry benefit by phone. I was instructed by your staff to complete a laundry request form. Please note that in my extensive experience with other Accor properties, I have never been required to complete such a form, nor was any explanation provided in this case. At check-in, I received: • no written instructions, • no explanation of the laundry benefit, • no information regarding cut-off times or delivery schedules. As a result of this lack of guidance, I was unable to request any additional laundry services thereafter. This represents a clear failure of your internal system and guest communication process. ⸻ 2. Unauthorized Modification of My Request and Improper Charge On the laundry request form, I clearly and explicitly wrote “Platinum Member Free Service Request.” Despite this, your staff unilaterally added handwritten text over my original writing, stating “Free normal laundry, non–dry cleaning,” and subsequently charged me for the service. I have photographic evidence of this modification. At checkout, I was charged for dry cleaning without my authorization or consent. ⸻ 3. Repeated and Unacceptable Deflection of Responsibility Your front desk staff repeatedly stated that: “You checked the dry-cleaning section, therefore the charge is valid,” and dismissed the matter as a “miscommunication.” This explanation is unacceptable. I explicitly stated my Platinum benefit entitlement both verbally and in writing. Despite this, your team failed to perform even a basic double-check before proceeding with the charge. Furthermore, the receipt itself does not clearly show the quantity I allegedly requested, further undermining the validity of the charge. Labeling this incident as “miscommunication” serves only to shift responsibility onto a Platinum member for what is clearly a hotel system and process failure. ⸻ 4. What the Hotel Should Have Done Given the circumstances, the correct course of action would have been: • to acknowledge the ambiguity, • to verify the request in light of the Platinum benefit, • and not to charge the guest. Instead, I was forced into an uncomfortable and prolonged discussion at the front desk and ultimately paid the charge solely to avoid further escalation and distress. ⸻ 5. Requested Resolution I am raising this matter not merely as a complaint, but as a request for accountability and improvement. I formally request: 1. A review of this incident and appropriate reimbursement or compensation for the improper charge 2. A thorough review of your Platinum laundry benefit procedures 3. Corrective training and system improvements to prevent recurrence I respectfully request a formal response before Christmas. As a customer who values the Accor brand, I hope this matter will be addressed seriously and resolved in a manner that restores trust and reflects the standards expected of a Platinum membership.
