Hotel location, bed and breakfast is good. Front desk managers are friendly, helpful and professional. Overall, the experience with Novotel Xiamen was good. However there were also unpleasant experiences too. One night, both my wife and myself were asleep around 11pm, a man kept pressing the door bell and woke up my wife who was frightened as this was unexpected. The man had wanted to deliver a shaver. We understand later from the front desk there were some misunderstanding. Another unpleasant experience, was when I requested for a bottle cap opener and a cup of ice from the bar counter. A staff was not only not helpful but disrespectful and rude. I was told to request the bottle cap opener from my room. He handed me a cup of ice where I thanked him. When I thank him for the cup of ice, the staff didn't bother to look at me or say anything, he just turned and walked away. Being a Accor Platinum member, I have travelled in many countries and stayed in many hotels of similar or higher class as Novotel. I have never encounter such unpleasant experience. I hope next time when I stay in Novotel Xiamen, I will have a better experience with nicer memories.
