I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Sofitel Shahd, and what truly made the experience exceptional was the outstanding hospitality from Mr. Abdullah Alharbi and Fatimah at the reception desk. From the very first moment, their warm welcome, professionalism, kindness, and genuine care made us feel completely comfortable and valued. They were always smiling, attentive, and incredibly cooperative, handling everything smoothly and efficiently with such elegance and respect. It’s rare to come across staff with this level of hospitality and positive attitude. They truly reflect the high standards of the hotel and made our stay much more special and memorable. Thank you so much for the beautiful experience — and this definitely will not be my last visit to Sofitel Shahd. Highly recommended.

The rooms feel dated, cleanliness standards are very low, service lacks the attentiveness and professionalism associated with a luxury property, and the overall experience does not justify its positioning or pricing. At best, the hotel resembles an aging three start property attempting to operate underground a five star label. I have stayed at numerous 5 start hotels across the region and internationally, and this was among the most disappointing experiences. The hotel’s location is its primary advantage without it, the property would struggle to compete even with many lower rated hotels in the area. Significant investment, renovation, and a complete reassessment of service standards are required before this hotel can credibly market itself as a five star establishment.
