Being woken by an alarm and using the emergency stairs should have been met with calm, clear instructions and respectful support. Instead, you describe uncertainty about what had happened and colleagues appearing to laugh when you sought an explanation. We understand why this left you feeling unsafe. Whatever triggered the alarm, your questions should have been taken seriously and you should have been kept informed. Thank you for also recognising the breakfast manager's thoughtful offer of tea or coffee. That considerate interaction does not diminish the seriousness of your other concerns. We would appreciate a private conversation with hotel management so the alarm response, room allocation and service interactions can be examined properly.
