The hotel has excellent food and hospitality is top notch. A wide range of food and rooms to cater for family, friends or business travelers. Its proximity to masjid Nabawi the prophet’s mosque is also another star. A great service from Younus, smiling and warm demeanor.

Good but Overrated

I went for 2 nights however I had mixed feelings about the hotel after staying there. Location: this is generally speaking more of a criticism of Madinah as well as the hotel but I would say that whilst it is great for Rawdah and generally close to Masjid Al Nabwi and a nice mini mall, it is not in what I would consider a safe location as traffic is not safe around Masjid Al Nabwi, particularly if you are disabled or with small children. Disabled ramps closer to the masjid are very step and quite narrow, so it requires good hand-eye co-ordination to navigate the ramps and would in fact recommend getting in the entrance round the back if disabled. Similarly, I would strongly advise the Saudi Government / local government at Madina to install traffic lights around the masjid and the nearby streets as it is like navigating crossing the road in India/Pakistan and can be daunting for those unfamiliar with such system or who have mobility issues or looking after others. Whilst it is close to the masjid, like a lot of travellers have mentioned, if you are travelling with ladies, or with disabled people, it is better if you stay on the opposite side enarer to the ladies gate, however I would not recommend Movenpick based on personal experiences last time I stayed. Atmosphere: again, this is a mixed one as the hotel felt a bit quiet despite there being a lot of people due to it being a weekend (saturday to Monday) but generally speaking, Madinah is quite quiet vs Makkah. Rooms: the room we were allocated was very clean and spacious, with 2 bedrooms and 2 toilets/bathrooms, however it was noted that it was not very disabled friendly and the staff were clueless when we asked for chairs (hindsight, etiher get an accessible room when booking or get a folding chair and zimmer frame from a pharmacy or bin dawood. Whilst the executive suite we had had great view of Masjid Nabwi, the soundproofing was a bit rubbish as I could hear cars and people on the street. Value: Despite being the top-rated Accor Hotel in the area, the value was quite expensive and was more expensive per night than fairmont in Makkah with Kaabah view and half board (for 3 people and 2 nights, it was around £700). Additionally, unlike movenpick or sofitel (and other competitors outside of Accor Family), for whatever reason, this was the only hotel I encountered which was non-refundible, thus booking here would mean that if something happens, you cannot get a refund. Amenities: 3 beds (1 kingsize, 2 singles), 2 toilet / bathrooms with showsand soap. The showers were limed and were tricky to operate as you had to constantly hold the plunger on the tap to enable shower mode rather than tap mode. the welcome goodies were good. the breakfast was OK but an interesting mix of food from africa, middle east and asia with virtually no western influence (good and bad). Overall, it is hard to rate the place as it definitely a 4 star hotel by western standards but due to various factors, I would rate it a 3 star experience.

Excellent Guest Care Services! Plullman Zamzam Madinah has always been my “go to” spot whenever I visit Madinah, and I have never been disappointed!
