Regarding the parking charges, we appreciate that £15 per night may have felt expensive in addition to the cost of your accommodation. We understand how important it is for families, particularly those travelling with a baby, to feel comfortable and reassured about the arrangements provided in their room. We are concerned to hear that the cot was supplied without a proper cot mattress and that a folded duvet was used instead. We fully appreciate the anxiety this caused your daughter and recognise the importance of ensuring that appropriate, safe sleeping arrangements are provided for our youngest guests. We are sorry that this fell short of your expectations. We will ensure that this matter is brought to the attention of the relevant team for review. We also apologise that body lotion was provided in place of body wash in the shower. Although we understand that this was rectified on the second day, we acknowledge that these details should be checked and addressed promptly to ensure a comfortable stay. Overall our stay was ok, £15 per night to park the car we felt was over the top as we had already paid over £300 to stay for 3 nights. We booked a superior twin with seaview and were expecting a room with full length windows not a half window, room description needs modifying. Housekeeping need to be instructed on how to make a bed as i had to completely strip the bed and remake it the sheet was on skewed and the undersheet was not even on the mattress in one corner so making the bottom sheet very ruffled. Did not bother to report as once done to my satisfaction it was ok. Hoping that my comments are heeded, i worked in tour operation for years and am well aware of expected standards.

Despite booking superior rooms, the one with the cot in didn't have a cot mattress only a soft duvet folded in half with a loose sheet over. My daughter then had a sleepless night worrying about the baby suffocating. She also had body lotion in her shower instead of body wash. Both of these were rectified on the second day. However, upon asking for an extra bottle of water on day 3 (our stay was 5 nights) I was told in no uncertain terms, infact quite rudely, that this was only provided as complementary on the first night and I was welcome to buy it at the bar. This struck me as rather petty as we were staying for several nights. Also in the fridge was Pepsi which we don't like and so never used. Should we also have been petty and taken it away with us ? I have never had this problem in any other place I have stayed and water is usually replenished every day. Do you get 1 lot of complimentary drinks if you stay only 1 night or several ?

All staff were very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast choices, excellent. Evening meals, limited menu. Main disappointment was that the room could not be cooled lower than 19 degrees with no windows to open. We found that was too warm to sleep in.

Overall is a nice hotel and location. Only had breakfast at the hotel but that was nice. Unfortunately our room wasn't ready at the specified time and then no one let us know when it was ready. The room was ok upon arrival although the shower could have been cleaner and the toiletries were nearly empty. The fridge was also not cold and drinks left from the previous guest. We did also ask for a new fridge, a cot, the bathroom tiles to be cleaned and toiletries filled the next morning but these weren't done until we asked again in the evening. Our room was cleaned fine everyday although our daughter spilled some chocolate on the bed so we hoped this was going to be changed but instead the housekeeper just flipped over the duvet cover. We enjoyed our stay despite these issues.

Such a lovely stay at Mecure Paignton. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The staff we so lovely, friendly, helpful, and fun. Big shout out to Nina and Renee. We would highly recommend for location, view of the bay and relaxing feel.

I confess to being a little dubious about staying in a hotel in Paignton even though it was a Mercure. Our experience from start to finish was superb. The staff were exceptional, the food was delicious, the hotel was clean, welcoming, the rooms were great, and the prices were very reasonable. The disabled facilities are extremely good and suited my friend perfectly. I look forward to rebooking and spending more time there. Thank you to every single member of staff and that includes housekeeping and maintenance. Sometimes they get forgotten.

We had a very comfortable stay at the Mercure in Paignton. We stayed in a privilege room with fab views of the pier and seafront. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
