Waited two hours check in Food disgusting No gluten free options

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are extremely sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating and unacceptable this must have been. A two‑hour wait at check‑in is wholly unsatisfactory, and we sincerely apologise for the disorganisation and inconvenience this caused at the start of your stay. We are also very concerned by your comments regarding the food quality and the lack of gluten‑free options. This clearly falls short of the standards we aim to provide, particularly for guests with dietary requirements. Your feedback has been shared urgently with both our front‑of‑house and food & beverage management teams so these issues can be addressed. We appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention. While this does not undo your experience, please be assured your comments are being taken seriously and are helping us identify areas where immediate improvements are needed. We genuinely regret that we did not provide the level of service you deserved.

All the staff from the receptionist through to the food and beverage staff and the cleaners were all absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful.

As usual first class service from my favourite Hotel in Torbay ,and after signing in i was told i had a free sea view upgrade !,what a fantastic gesture from the Mercure management ,i do think its always nice when loyalty is rewarded.So tgank you for a lovely 4 night stay
