I couldn't find any temperature control, except turning the heater off. The room had peeling paint on the windows. 2 wooden slats on the bed had fallen off.

Was really annoyed it was like being in the middle of a building site. Nobody warned us there was building / refurbishment going on when we booked probably would have had second thoughts about staying.

The hotel is very tired and bedrooms in need of renovation. However, the rooms were clean and quiet. Carlos (duty manager) was fantastic and made the stay. He even chased down another guest who tried to steal my computer when I accidentally left it on the bar. THANK YOU Carlos!

Needed a room to stay last minute and checked the website. Got a room at a good price. Easy check in and staff very helpful. Booked a second night and stayed in same room. Will definitely stay again.

Good basic room although I found the mattress a bit firm but great to be able to take our dog with us

Hotel undergoing building work so restaurant/ reception very limited space. Noisy and somewhat dusty. Accommodation not up to usual Ibis standard as rooms were ‘motel’ style chalets. As we had had a lot of rain water was seeping up between slats of the floor which smelled unpleasant and made the room feel cold and damp. Parking also limited and awkward as there were many construction company vehicles parked in the car park and the builders were using car park to store and cut up materials again noisy and dusty and awkward to park. Having stayed at Ibis Gloucester, Northampton and Chesterfield we were disappointed with the conditions at Plymouth. We had not been told about the building work being carried out, it was not mentioned on the website when we booked or when we checked in on line.

Almost a disaster,due to refit work work,affecting Arrival and departure.However,no problems with the room,which was quiet and met our requirements.

On the positive side, the hotel was well located, and easy to find. Staff were very welcoming, polite and very pleasant. Breakfast was good. Facilities within the rooms were good, hairdryer, tea & coffee making facilities, biscuits and the beds were really comfortable. The decor and overall appearance of the rooms was quite shocking, by far the ugliest room I have ever stayed in and I've stayed in a lot cheaper properties.

The staff we spoke to were all fab, I can’t speak highly enough of them. The room was fine for the price, but the bed was the hardest thing I’ve ever slept on. My husband and I were both woken up several times on each of the two nights we stayed because our hands had gone numb. I know the rooms are due to be refurbished and I hope that the beds will be replaced!

The hotel is in a great location just off the main road. Staff are friendly and rooms are clean, but a little dated. The only downside for me is the layout. Rooms are motel style so open straight out to the outside. Every time we have stayed, we have been put on the ground floor, looking out onto a grass bank and we’ve felt a bit isolated. We will stay again as it is great value
