Every summer my wife and I drive down to Cornwall for a holiday. To avoid heavy Saturday traffic we drive to Plymouth on Friday and stay overnight at the Ibis Plymouth before completing the journey the following morning. It is perfectly situated just off the A38; more importantly, it is clean, comfortable and very good value. In addition, the bar is well-stocked and the food is much better than one might expect for a modest establishment - I was delighted to find that my rare steak was exactly that. Altogether highly recommended as an unpretentious but well-run and convenient overnight stop.

Arrived after a great day out at The Eden Project. Warmly greeted by the host. Lovely lady who couldn't do enough for us. Unfortunately we needed a refrigerator for my wife's medication but there wasn't one in the room but was happy to keep it their office fridge. Room adequate, however really needs an upgrade to AC in the rooms especially as the climate is getting warmer. It would also be very advantageous to have it in the bar/reception area to encourage to sit in there. 2nd night after a trek to find Doc Martin we returned to have our evening menu which was brought promptly to us. Food did the job while we watching the England v Argentina rugby match on a massive tv in the reception area, where an a/c unit would be even more advantageous.
