Short break to visit Exeter for the forts time. Hotel was well located for access to city centre and not too far from railway station. Room was comfortable with decent amenities. Good breakfast buffet (if a little overpriced at full charge). CAr parking on site (again a little pricey for a resident.)

Breakfast was really good, lots of hot and cold options, plenty of fruit and healthier options as well as the usual cooked breakfast items. Room was basic but clean. We had five classic family rooms between our party (10 friends) and there were quite varying differences in the rooms. Some had big flat screen TVs and bathtubs in the bathroom. The rooms on the even side were much bigger than the rooms on the odd numbered side. We heard some of the rooms had been refurbished so ours must’ve been one of the ones yet to be finished. The main issue was the sofa bed, the mattress was so thin and uncomfortable, you could feel all the springs. We couldn’t sleep in it so had two adults sharing the double bed instead. No biggie but definitely shouldn’t be offered as a bed suitable for an adult!! The main bed was really comfortable, we slept very well. Other good things - friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. We made use of the pool area which was fine for a few lengths and a sauna/jacuzzi. Not the sort of spa pool you could spend a morning lazing in but find for an hour. Hotel was generally kept very clean and rooms were serviced daily.
