The bed was super comfy and crisp bed linen and overall presentation of room very good. Staff very friendly. My only niggle was lack of hooks or rails in bathroom to hang hand towel, thought the design could have accommodated this as actual heated towel rail location difficult to reach. Also there was no where in the shower to put your products etc if brought your own. Appreciate it was small room but to dry hair in front of floor length mirror again, couldn't rest brushes or dryer anywhere as standing up.. maybe a lady didn't do the design of room ha ha!

Loved every minute of our stay at the Municipal. First off the hotel is in a fantastic location, less than 10 minute walk to main shopping area and 7 minute walk to the restaurant we had booked that evening. The interior of the hotel is beautiful, every detail has been thought of to keep the traditional look of the building. We brought our dog with us and she was made to feel so welcome by all the staff. All staff we came across were very polite and attentive. The room was gorgeous and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast was made to order as well as continental buffet, would definitely return

Excellent - great staff, good bedroom and beautiful bar area with good food. Just two negatives: no hand towel rail or hook in the bathroom and breakfast very expensive so chose to have breakfast outside of the hotel.

Overall a mixed stay. This seems very petty but when I arrived I was incorrectly identified as a gold member rather than a platinum member. Received a lovely upgrade but the drains in the shower and sink were blocked which meant the bathroom flooded every time I used the shower. Also had no bath mat so had to use all the towels to soak up the water. The temperature on the shower was also hot or hotter. The cold tap wasn’t effective. Water in the fridge wasn’t replenished. Minor issue but for a hotel of this calibre these small things matter. However nice bed and lovely room.
Breakfast needs to be improved. Lovely and helpful staff though. On the first day my booking didn’t show up so the staff spent 5 to 10 minutes trying to figure out if breakfast was included in my package. The Liverpool brekkie wasn’t great. The bacon was cooked to a cinder and service was extremely slow during busy times which I understand to an extent. No glasses and no plates at one point for the continental breakfast so guests were left standing around. Food also not replenished. Really below par for a 5 star hotel.
Ordered room service one night. The club sandwich I ordered was frankly disgusting. Cold when it got to me and had a stale smell that I barely ate it and left all the bread out of fear for falling ill.
Staff throughout the hotel were great and helpful.

We sincerely apologise for the issues you encountered with the shower, drainage, bathroom amenities, water temperature and room replenishment. These are certainly not the small details we would consider insignificant. Every element of a guest’s stay should feel effortless, and we appreciate you highlighting these points so that they can be addressed with the relevant teams.
We are equally disappointed to hear about your breakfast experience. The delays, lack of crockery and glasses, slow replenishment and quality of the food described are not reflective of the experience we aim to provide. We fully appreciate that busy periods can place additional demands on our team, but our guests should never feel that service or standards have been compromised as a result.
Most concerning to us is your experience with our room service. We are truly sorry that the club sandwich arrived cold and was not of the quality you should expect from us. This is particularly disappointing, and we sincerely regret that your dining experience fell so far short of the standards we strive to maintain.
We are grateful that, despite these shortcomings, you recognised the lovely and helpful nature of our team and enjoyed your upgrade. Your feedback has been shared with the appropriate departments, as these details matter greatly to us and provide an important opportunity to improve.
We hope you will consider giving us another opportunity to welcome you back. We would very much like the chance to provide the polished, attentive and consistently high-quality experience you should have received from the outset.
