Well located, lovely looking hotel, well presented inside and out. While we spent very little time in the hotel as it was a short break and we were mostly out exploring, the staff were lovely, very welcoming & helpful on arrival and our room was well equipped with everything required. Would definitely return and recommend.

The friendly doormen, the Christmas tree in the reception, the friendly reception staff and the beautifully decorated magical bar area are the best welcome to start your stay. Our room was lovely and spacious, the Birthday treat of Liverpool tarts was a nice and appreciated touch. Our housekeeping lady was the best ever and always a smile and cheery hello. The breakfast was perfect, the choice of cold drinks was welcome as we don’t drink hot drinks. Lovely cheese, meats, fruit, yoghurts, asstd breads etc or/ plus a hot menu to choose from and served by happy chatty staff was great. We enjoyed a cocktails in the bar plus food from the bar menu. A short walk to the centre of town, our favourite restaurants, line street station and the Christmas market. A perfect location. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our second stay at the Municipal and will be back again when possible.

Liverpool Municipal staff are amazing especially Alice on reception very bubbly, Jay our charming butler and the wonderful Natalie going above and beyond excellence to ensure a memorable 70th Birthday for our 30 guests. Please ensure this is fed back to the managers.

The refurb has been tremendously well done, it's stunning inside and out. Especially when we stayed in December. Staff were superb and incredibly helpful and friendly The room we had was tiny, although we knew the size beforehand it was fairly badly designed so the space felt cramped and awkward. All hotels get marked down for having those ridiculous unstealable coat hangers. In a 5* hotel, at £300+ per night The Spa was great, but nowhere near £50 for two hours great, have stayed at hotels with far better facilities in the UK where entry is free to guests. The bar, lovely though it is, was absolute carnage on Friday and Sat evenings, to the point where it's impossible to get a table or a drink, which is mildly annoying when you're staying there.

With regard to the spa, our thermal journey is offered as a full two-hour experience and is priced separately from accommodation. We understand that perceptions of value can vary and thank you for sharing your viewpoint. We are also sorry to hear that the bar felt overcrowded on Friday and Saturday evenings. We are particularly busy during the festive period, with both residents and non-residents enjoying the space, and we appreciate your understanding of how this can impact availability at peak times.
