nice, modern hotel in the city center. The rooms are clean and and very modern. The air conditioning works very well (no noise on lower levels) which is good for the night.

Nice hotel, terrible reception staff

I had made a reservation via phone call, I've requested a room with an extra bed as I've clearly indicated that the reservation was made for a family of 3 (three) members (2 adult + 1 child). Question was asked whether we need a breakfast, I was told especially that breakfast is free-of-charge in case of our child (under the age of 12 it is FOC). So, it was obvious that we will arrive as a family. First, when we arrived to the hotel, we have been told that the child is not included into the reservation, so we have to wait to the maid service to organize the extra bed in the room. [Please note that the maid service was super-OK, the lady was really fast and super-cool, it was clearly not her fault to have this extra request just after our check-in.] And this is, where the strange behavior started from the receptionist: first, we had to pre-pay all charges of our 1 night stay, meaning the hotel room and the fee of parking. We are traveling very frequently throughout Europe, we have never ever experienced such a strange request to pay the bill prior of ending our stay. The other strange behavior was that we have not received a bill upon the payment of the full amount of the fees, stating that the invoice will come just tomorrow, when we are checking-out from our room. I was told that this is "usual practice" to pay beforehand. Being honest, this is something very unusual and unprofessional understanding of customer service. On the other hand, the hotel-room was clean, beds are bit uncomfy for me (mattress was too soft for me, but this is not a deal-breaker).

Kedves Janos, Köszönjük, hogy idot szánt a kérdoív kitöltésére és megosztotta velünk a Mercure Debrecen szállodával kapcsolatos véleményét. Sajnálattal értesültem, hogy itt-tartózkodása nem az elvárásainak megfeleloen alakult, elnézését kérem a kellemetlenségekért. Megnéztem a foglalásukat és ez egy reggeli nelküli foglalás volt, a számlán nem láttam reggelis tételt, ha mégis lenne rajta kérem küldje el hogy megtudjam nézni, és tovább foglalkozzak ezzel az üggyel. 12 év alatti gyereknek ingyen van a reggeli amennyiben a szülő is reggelizik. Nem tudom hogy más szállodában hogy működik, de amit én ismerek ott is előre kell fizetni, ennek több oka van, ezek az okok mind vendég és mind a szálloda részére előnyösek. Nagyon köszönöm, hogy megosztotta velünk észrevételeit és bízom benne, hogy kapunk még lehetoséget Öntol a jövoben, hogy szolgáltatásaink magas színvonaláról meggyozhessük. Tisztelettel, Gábor

A 4-star hotel, but the little things were disappointing. For example, in a room booked for 2 people, there was only one coffee sachet and one bottle of water. Additionally, the welcome message on the TV had someone else's name, not mine. Such details spoil the overall impression
