We found the room size to be adequate and comfortable; however, some aspects of the room’s layout seemed inconvenient. For instance, the toilet paper holder was located directly beneath the towel dryer. As a result, when we hung our swimsuits to dry, water tended to drip onto the toilet paper. Additionally, we were traveling with a young child, and the ground-floor room we were assigned turned out to be rather noisy. With frequent foot traffic just outside our room and sounds coming in from the lobby, our little one’s sleep was often disturbed. To add to the noise issues, the children in the room above us were running and playing loudly until around 10 p.m. on one of the evenings, which further disrupted the quiet of our room. Moreover, there was a mechanical noise within the room, noticeable both day and night, which impacted our own ability to rest as well. During our visit to the wellness area, we noticed that by the afternoon on our first day, the towels had run out, which was a bit inconvenient. On a positive note, we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and dinner options. The food was delicious, varied, and the staff were consistently friendly and attentive.

Stayed in Mercure Tokaj for 5 nights to visit the region. Main highlight was extensive breakfast - very good. Room had lots of stink bugs on the balcony due to the weather, but not much can be done about this. Downsides - Shower had mold and mildew everywhere.. could have stood for a more thorough cleaning. AC did not work in the room, and at night even when it was off it blew warm air. We asked 4 different employees at reception to fix this and they said “we cannot do anything.” Not good. We would like to visit the region again, but likely will not stay at Mercury Tokaj.
