This was our second time visiting the Minaro Hotel. We had a wonderful experience the first time, that I could summarize the following way: "Great hotel with even better service". This was the reason why we decided to return but unfortunately we only got the first part. While the hotel and its facilities are still excellent, the service we received was roughly the same mediocre mass turism stlye that keep us away from the average Hungarian wellness hotel: untrained, junior staff that is completely incapable to serving guests at a higher level. Some examples: - beach bar staff has no idea how to prepare the simplest of cocktails and crews up even a mojito - beach bar menu offers a 0.5l Peroni beer but the staff serves this is a 0.4 glass. When politely mentioned, the bartender's excuse is that "she is only a student worker"... not that any excuse would be necessary (obviously this is not her fault), but she is clearly not trained how to handle a simple guest feedback. The next day the same order is again served in a 0.4 glass... - waiters at the dinner are clearing the tables and trying to take drink orders at the same time, so often we had to wait 5 minutes for a simple glass of wine to be served. This used to be a hotel where they put emphasis on wine and the previous time we accompanied our dinner with many servings... clearly with this waiting time this was not the case this time - when asked what kind of champagnes the house had, the waiter answered: "only dry"... - during the Saturday dinner (well before 8 pm), one waiter started to clear tables around us (collecting dinner cutlery and placing the breakfast). Excellent mood killer and btw we were waiting for our glass of wine.... - when the waiters take one plate during the buffet dinner, they obviously take the cutlery as well, but there is no replacement available at the buffet so the guests can take new ones. One ends up again waiting for the waiters to bring a new fork and knife... I - again very politely - mentioned this to the restaurant manager, who kindly dismissed my remark. I hope that Minaro will find a way to return to the quality that was initially targeted. I will follow the reviews and I might even return a 3rd time if I see a chance that I can repeat the 1st and forget the 2nd visit. ps: the sauna without a cold pool or at least an icecold shower is much like the dinner that one cannot wash with a good wine. Half job...

I liked the style of the hotel, the wellness section was great, the foods in the restaurant were also superb. Though we had a few annoying details. The music in the lobby and in the restaurant was really disturbing... it was like a kid trying to play a musical instrument... it was painful to listen to. Also, I did not like the fact that - despite the high prices of the stay - we did not have free water at the dinners. Charging 1300 HUF for a bottle of water is really too much, and we were not ask which size we would like to have, they brought the more expensive one. Also the bugs and insects on the terrace were really annoying, I was bitten twice, so we rather stayed in the indoor pool, because outside there were bees and other insects everywhere. I would have loved a pool with colder water to be able to swim (both pools were too warm for me).
