Eric A. Business - Confirmed reviews ALL

I had big expectations for this stay. I had stayed at other Fairmonts, and am a frequent visitor to London. The holiday time made it an added visit with high expectations. Sadly, it disappointed. Bars and restaurants stopped serving food early, forcing me to order room service and have it delivered in the lobby. Personnel at those restaurants were not friendly, which was disappointing. The food itself was good - and a bartender actually took my order, and delivered it to me in the lobby, which was nice. But otherwise the service function was poor. And then, of course, an alarm went off in the middle of the night, waking me (and other guests I imagine). The alarm stayed on for 30 seconds. Disappointing.

Amazing staff and food and facilities - sadly alarm went off at 11pm and loads guests returning at 1am and families at 7am so sleep was not the best - more soundproofing and would be a perfect stay!

Dear Emma F., Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our staff, food, and facilities. However, we regret to learn that noise disturbances impacted your comfort. Your comments regarding soundproofing will be considered as we strive to enhance our guest experience. I have personally tried to give you a call this afternoon to discuss your feedback however did not get through to you. I have sent you a separate email from el… Warm regards, Guest Relations Manager

Mitul V. Couples - Confirmed reviews ALL

was invited back after a bad initial experience/visit to the hotel. Check in was really good and really good hospitality on arrival- check in swift and early check in was great. We then went in to Windsor for dinner and came back realised that the TV in the bedroom was not working, on check in the lounge tv was on but the bedroom one was off. spoke to technician, they came round and fixed it and said this happened due to a internet cut- needed to reinstall the software and then it worked but this should have been checked prior to check in (assuming the tv would be checked to see if it works before guests arrive), once we settled and wanted to heat up the room, the bedroom thermostat did not work, became frustrated at this point as we wanted to go to sleep and heat the room up but could not, could not wait for another technician to come and check this therefore called reception and asked them to see if this could be remotely done or tackle when we are out the next day. the next day went really well, breakfast great all egg-less and vegan options given (this was a big issue on our first stay) so was pleased that this was looked after. We also went to the gym this morning and had a great experience. cannot complain about the Thursday stay. Friday morning went to the gym again, good experience for 30 mins, my wife was then asked to move away from the mat area as they has a class to be hosted, i would have thought that hotel guests would be prioritised or warned about classes. it seemed to be a circuit class and they used all the mat area along with the machines so my wife could no longer do what she was doing and then did not want to continue working out as all the equipment she wanted was occupied by the class. Breakfast again was good, we then went tot he spa. the pool was really cold, cold enough to not be able to use comfortably so this was disappointing, also it was not as clean as the last visit- towels and cups left around even though it wasn't overly busy we went for afternoon tea and tried to change between the vegetarian and vegan options due to our egg-free requirements. This seemed to be too much to understand and therefore settled on the vegan menu to make it easier for them to understand the requirements of no egg. I was surprised to be informed that some of the cakes in the vegetarian menu contained beef gelatin "as vegetarian guests don't mind this", i've never come across a vegetarian that would be ok to have beef gelatin. Nevertheless we continued with the vegan option- the bread was thick and very dry- up to the point where is was difficult to swallow, we were not also a big fan of the cakes/pastries. It was an overall poor disappointment- quality and level of food (vegan) was not good and felt like a waste of the experience and money. We have been to many vegan afternoon teas and have not felt this way before. On the evening of the Friday the next door guests checked in and were a family with children, the children were making noise all evening therefore could not stay in the room we went for a walk around the grounds then out for dinner due to this, n arrival there was silence as they had fallen asleep- we were woken at 5am due to the noise again from the children the next morning, this was our last night and we could not have a lay in as the hotel placed families next to couple guest not thinking about the noise disruption. Had we been therefore more nights i would have requested to move room but it was our last night/morning and would have hoped that the noise would not have been an issue. Saturday morning breakfast was awful- the same order as the last 2 morning was ordered, this time my wife's avocado toast came with egg on top even thought they knew we were vegan (same staff as the last few days), they apologised and then resent the order- 10 mins later it came as was very cold- inedible so my wife left the toast after 2 bites. We requested the gier vegan cakes which we had previously- after asking again as this was forgotten we were presented with gluten free carrot cakes i double checked that this was vegan and was advised that this was the case. Luckily the ingredient label was on the cake- as my wife began to take a bite i stopped her as it was in bold that there was egg contained as one of the main items. I flagged this up and was apologised to- i requested the same ginger cake as i knew from previous days that this was vegan- after 10/15 mins we were told they did not have anymore of the cake or any more vegan cakes or pasty options. Very disappointing as they knew our requirements and that we would be having breakfast on the Saturday prior to check out. We were informed on the Thursday breakfast to request any vegan options we would like as they don't order until Monday- i queried the cakes and pastries and was reassured that there is enough in stock but clearly this was not the case even after double checking. on check out i flagged this all up to Gaurav- he sincerely apologised and gave his card if we were to re-book to contact him, wanted to offer us a cake/treat on departure as my wife hadn't eaten but we were in a rush to pick up our children so had to leave swiftly- i'm not sure why this was not offered when we were actually having breakfast. I would request that this is looked in to as this is our second visit and after a positive start, the same issues we had on our first visit came about again but worse this time round. I would be interested to see what could be done with this poor experience
