Arriving taking the up-ramp west off N12 (directions from Rennes > Brest, Lannion) direction La Prunelle C4 then the left turn [south] then the roundabout and exit to the right – the sign for IBIS Plérin comes so soon that it is easy to miss. Once I drove into hypermarché Leclerc, then the next time I missed the sign and started along Rue des Chênes; but the third time I found it! Guests coming by car should be aware the IBIS Plérin has only a small number of parking spaces; at 18h30 midweek in September we got the last one. The front entrance to Reception is not the entrance to Le Resto Novo either – do not be distracted by the fake Roman pillars! Once in the hotel lobby my travel companion and I were warmly welcomed and I was pleasantly surprised to be offered a confirmation invoice for my booking in advance of our two rooms. The décor on the wall opposite Reception, with the large black-and-white photograph of the young-middle age Breton lady looking at the beach and the sea, is very impressive. During the night noise from outside seems to have been well-isolated, the ground floor rooms appeared to be quiet, and I don't recall we heard any disturbing traffic or delivery noise from Leclerc adjacent to the hotel. Le Resto Novo which is a straight-through walk from hotel Reception offers a reasonable choice of evening meals, and we both enjoyed our piece of salmon for the main course. Guests settle their bill for the evening meal at the hotel Reception. Breakfast next morning in Le Resto was also fairly good to good, and the coffee machine and juice dispenser worked well. There was a good choice of most ingredients, but I seem to remember this IBIS offered only 'cook your chosen' boiled egg and not scrambled egg oeufs brouillés. My overall score of 8/10 only drops because the parking was almost a problem – given that we were two older, retired guests – but, we were just lucky. Plérin is a reasonable example of the IBIS chain, not the most up-to-date 'Styles' which I have stayed in these past few years; but the welcome was friendly.

Sadly this was an awful experience. 1. We booked the room and left a note saying it was our wedding anniversary, I asked them to say felicitations to my wife upon arrival, they did not. 2. The furniture in the lounge very tired and tears in all the chairs. 3. We paid €130 for a meal at the restaurant and my wife got food poisoning, she ordered the moules (the only thing different from me), and she was ill all night, throwing up. 4. The mattress/bed in room 314 was not good 5. One of the employees was scraping the drive at 7am too early. 6. After raising these concerns with the reception, they did not address any of them, they did not apologies or ask if there was anything they could do. Overall an extremely poor experience, I will be writing to ibis to complain. Avoid!

On arrival were nicely greeted and were very efficiently given our rooms. It was hot weather and YES we could have done with air conditioning or even a fan! Congratulations to the staff for their super helpfulness and happy dispositions. We acknowledge three members of staff we called Queen Madam, Queen Camila and Queen Cleopatra! We spent two days at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. A great welcome even though we arrived very early.. we left our luggage in a secure place and when we got back, they had already placed our luggage in our room. The Restaurant has a good choice something for everybody. Breakfast was excellent.

Nice location, helpful staff. Restaurant good breakfast, good dinner Thursday shame it was closed Friday. No TV news channel in English. Cheap fuel adjacent. Local bar about 10 mins walk into town. Great coastal towns and views locally.

We were happy with our stay. The young man on reception was very welcoming and helpful. It was a shame that we did not know in advance that the restaurant would be closed
