We had a wonderful stay in Sofitel Peking. Welcome drinks for awesome. Kids were given their own shower jel, shampoo and pajamas. After returning from the Great Wall, We found complimentary fruit and cookies in our room. It was a pity we did not have enough time to enjoy swimming in the swimming pool which looks clean and big. I believe my kids will have a try next time. I do recommend the hotel to all of you and It absolutely wont let you down.

Victor K Friends getaway - 15/01/2020 TripAdvisor review

I booked a Club room which was supposed to include Executive Lounge, but since the lounge was unavailable (or perhaps not existing), the room rate included a daily allowance of 600 RMBs for F&B expenses. Additionally, the welcome letter that I received as Platinum Member, listed a number of “special promotions”, including the same 600 RMB daily allowance as compensation for the Executive Lounge, but also a 15% discount on all non-room expenses, which, in my view, was saying “we will deduct from your bill for extra services 600 RMBs per day, and apply 15% discount on the rest of charges”. However, the front desk refused to apply 15% discount, as according to them, “only the most favorable promotion should apply”. Not only was it never mentioned throughout the hotel’s communication, but the complete idea of linking 15% discount with daily 600 RMB allowance on “whichever would be more favorable” term is not making any sense, as in this case, in order to benefit from the 15%-discount, one would have to spend on food, drinks and other extra services more than 4,000 RMB (or 520 EUR) per day, which is totally unreasonable. Additionally, even following this awkward logic, I could not agree that I was using “double promotion”, since the daily 600 RMB allowance was not used as a Platinum benefit, but came as a Club room benefit that I paid for. However, my attempts to explain this to the front desk staff have been unsuccessful, and I asked to be connected with hotel management, but until now have not had any reaction from them at all, hence decided to post this experience here. After all, it isn’t about the money, but about quality of service quality and communications, and overall doing honest business, so hopefully Sofitel Beijing Central could consider this feedback and improve.

What a superb hotel! We arrived quite early after a long flight and the wonderful Peter at reception helped us check in early so we could go back to sleep. He really was a life saver! The room is really well designed and very modern. The bed was super comfy, made it hard to get out of bed each day! Every staff member we interacted with was very professional and polite, especially the bell team with transport advice and helping us with taxi's. Overall great stay, can't recommend it enough.

Not what we were expecting from Sofitel when we checked in. Our flight into Beijing was early in the morning, hence we arrived at the hotel in the morning prior check in hours. From our previous Sofitel experiences, adjustments can usually be made for us to check in earlier. Our original booking was on the executive floor and we were told upon arrival not much could be done for immediate check in unless we paid 2000 RMB more per day to upgrade. We expressed our disappointment and asked a few times if this was the best arrangement they could give for immediate check in. They told us all rooms are booked despite the off peak season which baffles us. We waited at the bar and was told shortly after there is a room that is available with another slightly cheaper upgrade. It baffles me if it is really full occupancy. Other than this, Iris from the housekeeping service is good. She saw that our daughter loves drawing and left a few pieces of A4 paper for her to write and draw on. We will like to commend her for her thoughtfulness. Aside from that, the lifeguard at the swimming pool (Liu Wei) is also very thoughtful as he offered a floating device to my daughter learning to swim.

Very good value by booking with Accor membership. Helpful and professional staff. We hope the parking payment could be set more easier than the current coupon setup. Maybe by liking the car registration directly with the room account. We also missed the spa section due to late return, that was a pity, we wish the spa could open earlier in the morning say 10AM instead of 2PM and close at midnight or something if possible. Some snakes in the mini bar would be awesome as well. Booking through Accor directly provided us the best value option, we have already recommended the Accor membership to quite few friends.

I was upgraded to a Jr.Suite thanks to my status at Accord, wonderful room and views. Went for dinner at the Chinese restaurant, it was empty but yet two dishes out of the 3 ordered where not available. We then went to the Bistro, the meat ordered was excellent but we had to eat while they where cleaning the premises, with the noise of the machines. A manager noticed and asked the personnel to stop. Ordered a hotel limo for airport transfer and ended-up in an Uber paid by the Concierge as they booked me the wrong day.... Good facilities, service needs a big improvement, staff was nevertheless nice and smiling.

the management knew from the booking day that the business center will not be there and Yet they fail to disclose to us during the booking Intentionally to avoid any cancellation... that a shame !!! as the manager confessed to me that he could not per upper management let us know about ( business center is not available ) I then have to change my meeting and let not even mention the poor quality of the breakfast with so many bad ad old food wrong and not even available again the manager apologized and he confessed that upper management will not let them buy fresh croissant and products for the breakfast ,, result it was horrible !! troubleshot , room where confused and not able to have electric shades ARE NOT working properly !!!!! this Hotel is not suitable for business people and the lies from the management will be posted in all Our socials network.,. this will be the last time for triangle Co to use again accord this ill be the last time and will be reported all over ., shame of You for lying to clients shame of You to be so cheap and shame on you for the struggle given to us during Our stay in this hotel; CEO Triangle will never use accords or Sofitel hotels .

Although you gave us a picture of some of the areas which were not satisfactory, I would be very thankful if you could send me more details about your stay to let me understand how we ended up to such a disappointment. First of all, regarding our business center, we do provide all the required services in our concierge beside the Front Desk. Mentioning about a meeting room, we also have meeting spaces available for rental or on complimentary basis for few hours if it is part of any of our guest benefits. Again regarding this specific point, I am not sure if it was a miscommunication from our colleagues but in any case we will get the team to retrain our talents to ensure our services are properly communicated with our guests. As for the breakfast, rest assured that no one from the Management team is trying to cut corners by providing “not fresh products”. By doing so we would not only put ourselves out of this market but also put the reputation of the brand at risk. If there has been some quality issue, thank you for bringing it up and we will look into it as butter croissant is one of the fundamental of our brand for breakfast. Finally, we do have electric curtains and shades from 10th floor and above but they should have been in working order prior to your check in. Chic hotel, fantastic concierge but front desk needs training

Sofitel has always been my first choice when visiting any Chinese cities, having stayed in your hotels in Shanghai, Hangzhou and Kunming. So far there has not been any major disappointment. The Bejing hotel lobby design was chic and cool, the check-in was smooth and fast. The rooms were stylishly designed although better quality bath towels befitting a 5 star hotel should be provided. My greatest compliment shall be paid to your concierge team especially Johnny Gao and Eli. We were a party of 5 and without wechat pay, we were sometimes stranded in the cold Beijing streets trying to look for a taxi and you cannot imagine our relief and appreciation when they help to get us a car to pick us up from our location. They have also went out of their way to help us with bookings, purchasing hard to obtain souvenirs and travel advice. Our only issue was with your front desk during check out. Because our flight was in the wee hours of the morning of 10/11/19, we decided to book an extra night (until 10/11/19)although we left in the late evening the day before (9/11/19). However, the front desk without double checking the number nights we paid for more or less accused is us of overstaying. This was frustrating as we cannot even attribute to language barriers as we are Chinese and my friend is extremely fluent. So we hope that your hotel management could look into more training for the front desk as it gives the hotel a bad reputation considering they are like your front line.

The hotel was conveniently located at the Jianguomen district and was beautiful. Reception was eager to help. A Gold member was made feel special and privileged. The room was perfect with a beautiful view, minibar was complimentary. Pool was nice, too. This is the best hotel I've been to in years. Only room for improvement is with the breakfast that doesn't quite meet the level of the hotel otherwise. Still, I can safely recommend Sofitel Beijing Central.

I had a most enjoyable stay in Sofitel. The most commendable service came from the concierge team. Before I departed for Beijing they booked and confirmed all my restaurant bookings within few hours of my e mail. During my stay, they never failed to go out of their way to accommodate my requests even to the extent of paying for my order of duck package first before I managed to get back in time. Johnny Guo arranged for the order for me with the restaurant took pictures for me of the product and asked all the relevant questions on my behalf. I have stayed in many 5 star hotel in the world but this has to be the most impressive concierge team ever. At the end of my stay I had a slightly unhappy encounter with the reception staff. The staff was apparently a trainee and didn’t ask questions politely but insinuated that we had overstayed. In fact we paid for the room until the 10/10 but left the night at around 1030pm before on 9/10 because of our early morning flight on 10/10. The team leader was equally bad in handling and instead of checking the details of our stay asked us why we stayed on!!! Even the concierge team later told us that they knew of our departure date but the reception doesn’t !?!! I hope your hotel can ensure reception staff improved their standards in the future. It would have been a perfect stay.

The missing lounge should have been compensated by additional room services, but it worked out 2 x and the other 2x it was not served. The employes were very helpful but the communication was difficult due to limited English Language skills. (Except Concierge and Reception)

DCMM2015 Friends getaway - 01/11/2019 TripAdvisor review

Sofitel Hotel is located about 5 minutes walk from Jianguomen Subway Station Exit B. No restaurants or super-mart around the area but is within easy reach by subway. Nice room but need a little time to get familiarise with the electrical switches. Concierge Alvin was very helpful in giving information+directions and Lucas Zhang suggested and purchased tickets to the Forbidden City for us in advance, saving us the trouble of having to queue when we got there. We stayed for 5 nights. Breakfast was good but the breakfast spread was almost the same daily throughout our stay. Housekeeper were courteous and request made for choice of pillows were attended to promptly by Ms Zhao. All items in the mini bar were free of charge. The biggest surprised came, when Guest Relation Manager Ms Jasmine called to wish and later delivered a birthday cake to the room. We were surprised as we had not mentioned it to anyone. Thank you all for making our stay a pleasant one. Hotel highly recommended for comfort and service..

The first room has a strong smell of smoke. The hotel should strengthen the non-smoking regulations.Before check-in, the reservation staff contact me to confirm the reservation in advance and inform me that welcome gifts will be prepared in the room. But there are no welcome gifts in the room when I check in.As a silver card member, the front desk staff did not provide the welcome drink coupon when I check in. But the concierge staff is very good and proactive.Room sound insulation is not good.

Note that we do not allow smoking within the hotel premise as per Beijing regulations. However, it is true that a more thorough check of the rooms would have prevent you from this bad experience. Room was fine. However, we were forced to remain in hotel for 36 hrs due to govt decree about security around 70th anniversary. We were not informed before we booked and arrived. This caused us great inconvenience and we missed the celebration. Secondly, the buffet was sub-standard and price was high. I hope you will provide compensation for our problems as I have been loyal member for years.

Lovely hotel, fantastic room. Very helpful staff. Excellent room service. All was great except for the bistro, Kwee Zeen which frankly is not up to Sofitel’s usual standards. Not worth the money. Food selection was poor and service wasn’t much better. Very disappointing.
