Worst experience of our lives – completely misleading Raffles Jaipur was hands down one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. The pictures look stunning, but reality is a completely different story. The building looks like it’s made of gypsum and cheap materials, pretending to be an old castle while clearly being a newly built structure done as cheaply as possible. It feels fake and disappointing from the moment you see it in real life. The food was an absolute disaster. At the Mediterranean restaurant, the chef was local and clearly had no understanding of Italian or Mediterranean cuisine at all. We ordered pizza, thinking it’s the safest option — but somehow even that went terribly wrong. The pizza was completely burned, with a black base that was impossible to eat. It honestly felt dangerous rather than just bad cooking. The feta salad was another joke — maybe one teaspoon of feta in total. The calamari fritti tasted only of oil, with no flavor whatsoever. Overall, the food was uneatable and extremely disappointing for a hotel that claims to be luxury. The rooms were equally bad. While they look grand in photos, in reality they are small, poorly designed, and had a bad smell. The mattress was very uncomfortable, and the pillows were terrible — thankfully we had brought our own pillows. Otherwise, sleeping would have been impossible. To make things worse, the staff were not well trained, didn’t speak proper English, and didn’t meet the standards expected at this price point. The service felt unprofessional and careless. This hotel is massively overpriced for what it offers. We would absolutely not recommend anyone to waste their money here. Save yourself the disappointment — this place does not live up to its reputation or its price at all. After staying in this Raffles at Jaipur, we no longer choose the Raffles brand. It seems nowadays you can’t trust the brand.

Lots of confusion all around. Wrong rooms, breakfast was supposed to be open at 7a but no one was there. Room left unlocked and open after service. It wasn’t a seamless stay.

Exceptional experience, from the architecture, design and location through to the staff and teams which made our stay incredible. Not to mention the culinary team, Chef Singh and his team provided a wonderful culinary journey through his roots and showed us the best of Indian cooking. The spa also was wonderful.

We enjoyed the musical welcome and engaging staff. Our stay was overshadowed by a strong smell of smoke each night in our room. In addition, when we arrived the A/C was not working properly. The smell issue was raised on 3 different occasions but was never fully addressed. Also, the breakfast service on days 1 and 2 was lacking. My first meal was delivered cold.

I travel at least 250 days a year, including significant international travel and this was hands-down the absolute best hotel experience I've had in my entire life. The beauty and elegance of the hotel was only surpassed by the thoughtfulness and diligence of the hotel staff. These are people who understand the needs of a traveler but also understand the ways of the human spirit and what is needed for rest and restoration of the mind, body, and spirit. Never have I encountered an entire staff team that understood this so well. Every attention to detail was exquisite, and everything - from the food, to interactions, was done with the utmost care and kindness. The gym staff, rooftop staff, housekeeping, those who answered the phone for service calls, driver, Butlers, chefs, everyone was phenomenal. Requests were responded to promptly, the food was of the highest quality and prepared with consideration, the various modes of communication were very effective. I felt welcomed and embraced the entire stay, while also having the space for needed solitude. Each day I was left almost overwhelmed with gratitude at the thoughtfulness of the staff. And being able to meander around the hotel to witness the exquisite beauty of the various rooms (e.g. the Writers Bar, the reception area, the rooftop, etc) was one of the best parts of each day. The gentle flute in the main hall and outside were the perfect acoustical accompaniment to create a sense of calm and peace as one moves about the hotel. Navigating around the city was energizing and the perfect counterbalance to the tranquility of the hotel. It was great getting out and about in the hustle and bustle of the city and then being able to come back to a tranquil retreat each evening. This is an amazing staff team - well-learned and masters in their work. An overall awesome hotel experience.
