Good points: I was able to check in a little early. Room was clean. The gym is good. Breakfast - I enjoyed the selection and coffee. Later than usual breakfast and check out time. Bad points: The price of the room shot up between me looking and booking. Room is tiny. When I returned to my room late in the evening I realised the air conditioning unit did not work at all so the room felt humid and stuffy. If I had opportunity I would have asked for a partial refund regarding the issue with the air conditioning but I already waited 20 minutes at reception before having to use the fast check-out option and leave.

Although we completed online check-in we still spent 10mins at the desk going through formalities and adopting a card for the room. Why reception has moved to a tiny very hot desk in the old lounge bar who knows. It should be front and centre at the entrance. Check-out was worse as there was a different card on file. All the itemised billing was in-house code and room service turned out to be drinks at the bar. So that was another 20mins for the receptionist to find out what everything meant and unravel the system - the queue was building behind us and certainly not express check-out. Shower in the room was excellent pressure and the room comfortable. First morning breakfast was ok nicely cooked the second didn't even meet a standard - cold hard fried eggs, no bacon, so much water in the scrambled eggs. Taxi was ordered and the driver didn't arrive for 20mins, then didn't know where Bridlesmith Gate was in the city!! So we were dropped at the other end of town and he didn't accept card only cash!! I had to ring his head office and pay over the phone. Overall a very clunky stay which with a few tweaks could be stunning. Just didn't feel there was any soul to the place just meeting rooms and another faceless corporate bland effort.

We have stayed in your hotel last year for a Sporting Event so decided to stay again. The location is good as away from the noise of the City Centre. Our room was comfortable although we were slightly disturbed by people in the back car park early morning and the laundry bins. The bathroom was nice and the shower good. We feel the hotel needs a bit of an overhaul as carpets and flooring tired . Tables in Breakfast room damaged. The leisure club is very handy but very small to serve such a huge hotel and external customers. It was a pity the jacuzzi and sauna were not working. Also the morning baby class limits the swimming for hotel guests. Breakfast was ok but food choices are a bit limited. Chef said no scrambled egg even though it was only 10 a.m. But overall it we had a good night sleep.

I stayed here during the download festival as always as it's a great hotel. The room is a good size, bed is comfortable and bathroom is decent. No complaints in that department. The only negative was the jacuzzi and sauna were both out of action and only one lane was open to use the pool every day apart from Sunday.
