Loud room, poor service.

Our first three nights my wife and I stayed in a room with a door connecting us to the neighboring room and we could hear everything going on in that room. We heard music and loud talking until after midnight. We complained about the noise, but the nature of the thin walls and the door made it so we heard everything happening next door. We also called the front desk to request additional towels which we never received. Lastly, our original room also had a circuit break twice, shutting off the television and coffee maker (the only appliances plugged in at that time). Additionally, the toilet required me to open the back to make the flusher work. After the third night we requested that we switch rooms because of the absurd amount of noise from our original room. We were told that while there were no rooms available at that time, if we packed our bags they would be moved to a new room when it became available. We packed our bags and returned in the afternoon to find out that we did in fact have a new room, which of course did not have our bags. We then had to ask the front desk to send someone to our previous room to make sure our bags were there, and then move then to our new room. After we switched rooms our stay was much better. There were no issues with our second room. Overall, we were very dissatisfied with the service we received and the first room we stayed in and we do not believe the stay was worth anywhere near the $240 a night we paid.

The phone is the room was not working to call lobby or house keeping or room service. I let management know and they did nothing. I also asked for some coffee pods and cups that room service had forgotten to refill, both at the lobby in person and later on the phone (had to use my cell to call the hotel because the phone was not working) and still never got them. Room service was poor. Cleaning products left in the room, amenities not refilled... It’s too bad bEcause the hotel seems like it has potential, just seems very mismanaged.

We stayed 9 nights during our Babymoon and I was disappointed for the first time with a Novotel. As a Gold Accor Live Limitless I was expecting a little bit more attention and even more so as the hotel had reached out prior to our arrival. Even during our stay, the service was sub par.

I’ve been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years. I travel often and I must say it’s the first time where the individual greeting/checking me in did not inform me of events taking place in the area or provide a brief overview of the hotel amenities. I was not instructed on how to operate the elevator. He was not personable at all. I would recommend having the counter person provide vital details on hotel and surrounding area to the guest.

Novotel Miami: A quiet room? Maybe

This is a newish property located just southwest of the downtown bustle. It's in a quiet neighborhood but the metrorail tracks are right next to it; the sound of passing trains is persistent but not overbearing. It's a five-minute walk from the Brickell train station and the (separate) people mover. In fact, a car is not needed because the train connects to the airport. There is a Publix grocery store and a Walgreen's immediately adjacent. The guest rooms are well appointed and the bathrooms are especially nice. (There was some countertop chipping away in the guest room, (717) those kinds of items need to be fixed by engineering.) There is some noise room to room. I didn't feel that front desk staff worked very hard to assign me a quiet room; it's as if they make no attempt to meet your request. No one on the housekeeping staff spoke English; there was a complete language barrier. The pool is on the roof; it is small but adequate but needs to be better maintained and skimmed of hair, etc. Breakfast was excellent. I would stay at the property again; I just hope they stay on top of things and listen to guest requests. Why not a "quiet floor"?

The hotel is nice and well kept. Good location with friendly and courteous staff. Improvements can be made in the areas of housekeeping, as we had to complain about a dirty bathroom, which is pretty unacceptable. There was soap scum on the shower glass and an old toothpaste stain on the inside of the shower tiles - pretty gross.

If you go for tourism into Brickell area, sure the Novotel is a good option. However, keep in your budget to pay around 40 per day just for parking your car. So make the math..

It was just a one night to enjoy the hotel and the city of Miami. It was the end of my vacation with my family. Fortunately I could get the room upgrade and the drink and amenities were just waiting for us.

The hotel was clean and good quality. The gym was very nice, but a 2nd flat weight bench would have been useful. The popcorn bags at movie night were appreciated but very small. Room service delivered my food late which made me almost late for my ride. The New Years free cookies were great.
