No good from the first experience

Reservation department handled my booking incorrectly, leading to wrong charge; I had to review and correct it with them after that. Receptionist didn't ask and collect necessary information for VAT invoice issuance for my stay. Accountant issued VAT invoice without any cross-check with customer. This is selfish and careless, not professional. Food in breakfast and in executive lounge is far to the level of a 5-star hotel.

New hotel, inconsistent staff and attempts at scamming

The room was nice and the amenities are the best in the city. Unfortunately my stay was soured by an interaction with an evening front desk staff. It was late, around 10-11pm and a young man was the only staff at the front desk. I asked if he could assist with arranging a taxi to Hanoi Airport. He went on the phone to make a phone call, he had a short conversation on the phone while laughing a few times. He ended the call and told me it's going to cost 3.5 million dong to book a seat on a 7 seater limousine. Of course I knew this was overpriced because I had paid 500,000 to go from Hanoi to Haiphong and even a private taxi had quoted me less than 2 million dong. I asked if that's the cheapest option and he said yes it's the standard price. I told him no thank you and walked away. I was with a friend who speaks Vietnamese, as we walked away she told me that he was trying to scam me and on the phone he was talking about keeping the extra fee and sharing it with his colleague. In the morning, I went to the front desk again and asked the same question, they were very nice and they told me it will cost under 1.7milion dong, half the price from the night before. Further proof that the previous night staff was malicious. In the end, my friend booked me the limousine herself for 500,000. To be clear, I would be happy to pay 1.7million and the morning staff were very helpful, I was satisfied with them. The night staff on the other hand, was a blatant attempt at scamming a foreign guest asking for assistance - in the most expensive hotel on the city. I left the hotel with a sour taste
