At check-in I was asked for personal details that were already in your hands as I already checked in (asking my e-mail for example, after you sent many unnecessary e-mails to confirm my booking and my check-in; mobile n etc,) I was then given a room that was still being cleaned. I had a much higher image of Movember before the Amsterdam experience.

We originally selected the Movenpick hotel because of the location which is a 2 minute walk to the cruise port. We also discovered that the hotel has excellent rooms, great service, is well priced, and is only a 10 minute walk to City Center. After our initial stay, we booked an additional night when we returned from the cruise. While other passengers lined up to get transportation, we simply walked back to the hotel and had another amazing day in Amsterdam.

We had a rough go on the first night with a room that had water issue and we were put into a second room that had a shower drain issue. The staff was apologetic and made things right. It was obvious that the issues with the rooms were not a normal occurrence and they immediately worked to rectify. Sometimes things break and there is nothing that could prevent that but how they handled it after the fact was strong. Next trip to Amsterdam I will stay here without hesitation. Location is great. Just under 15 minute walk to central station and about a 1 minute walk to the cruise port entrance.

I appreciated the hotel staff allowing me to check in earlier than usual rather than store my bags so I could take part in sightseeing during the day. Movenpick rooms are always comfortable and the hotel is quiet so I can relax and sleep without issues. The breakfast is always good and filling. Still haven't had the chance to try the Movenpick ice cream I keep hearing good things about.
