Great location, rooms, house staff, and food. We are very pleased with our stay. However, we were part of a cruise pre trip - that had to leave every day before 8. Breakfast didn’t open until 7, the line was huge, because we. Had to be through breakfast and to the lobby by 7:45. Not enough staff to handle a large group. The food was fantastic, but one had to flag help for water, coffee, order cooked eggs . . . Frustrating.

The hotel was beautiful and we felt hotel employees were amazing and welcoming at all stages. The standard offering of the hotel (such as gifts in the room) was also great. However, we were a little disappointed with a maintenance issue with the room (there was a repetitive static noise coming from the A/C unit which interfered with sleep). We reported this to the hotel and maintenance came to the room within an hour which was good. But the repair then took around an hour right when we were hoping to go to sleep (as we had come off a very long flight). Due to the nature of the repair, there was also some mess left by the repair (wood chips on the floor from the roof panel) which were left. While we understand sometimes there are maintenance issues that need to be fixed, and they aren’t always noticed before arrival (or raised by previous guests), we were disappointed that there didn’t seem to be any recognition of the inconvenience (such as an offer of drink vouchers to use while the repair was done, a small room credit due to the interference with our stay, or an offer to move rooms due to the time needed to repair the issue), other than a quick apology, either at the time or at checkout. This was especially the case as the room we were in was ordinarily around 900 euros for the night, and we decided to treat ourselves to enjoy a long night sleep after our 30 hours of flights to Athens. This left us with the feeling that while the Hotel’s standard offering was luxurious, it did not seem to deal with the out-of-the-ordinary situations as well as some other luxury hotels we have stayed in (at least, not without making a significant fuss, which we do not like doing).

The breakfast selection offers everything one can wish for…a perfect start for a challenging day. A staff member named Kimono delivered top service, remembered personal preferences throughout our stay. The receptionists were attentive and helpful, especially Begni Elena, who bade us farewell, will be remembered by my husband and me.
