We stayed at the Sofitel for one night before an early flight home, as we had done on a previous trip. This time our experience went far beyond a normal hotel stay. Late in the evening our toddler suddenly developed a fever and became inconsolable. We first went to the small health center at the airport, but they couldn’t do much more than a limited check. Back at the hotel he still wasn’t himself, and we decided a hospital visit was necessary. The night manager, Panagiolis, stepped in immediately, calmly offered two options, and recommended where he would take his own family. That guidance made a stressful decision much easier. We ended up spending the night at the hospital. Thankfully it turned out to be nothing serious—most likely stomach pain from a hard-to-digest meal—and by morning our son was back to normal. Sofitel kindly gave us a late checkout so we could return, pack, and walk across the street for our flight home. When we got back to the room we found a handwritten note and small gifts from the hotel—an incredibly thoughtful touch that meant a lot after a long night. Having a health scare in a foreign country, with a different language and alphabet, is overwhelming. The compassion, professionalism, and genuine care we received from the Sofitel team made all the difference. After this experience, I wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else near the airport. Very grateful to Panagiolis and the entire staff.

Not family friendly - a 12YO is an "adult" for booking purposes

Just as a warning to other families, this hotel considers a *12 year old* an adult. So no family rate if your child is 12. Ridiculous money grab. I'd love to see their faces when my 12 year old tried to check into a room given that she is an "adult".

Dear Amy J, In our hotel's official webpage when making a room reservation and under children policy section, it is clarified that children up to 12 years of age share their parents' room for free. Consequently, a 12 years old kid doesn't need to book a second room. This information is also clearly provided in other booking channels. We remain at your disposal for any further information.
