I was on a business trip at Sofitel Athens for one week. The hotel, restaurant, the food were great, the service awesome especially in the restaurant! However, I was unfortunate enough to be bitten by bed bugs on my face, arms, neck, and stomach. At first, I thought it was an allergy when I noticed them on the wall—there were a lot of them. When I went to the reception, the staff member informed me that I would need to wait while she called her supervisor. After about ten minutes, they offered me a new room, and that was the extent of their response. After some research, I found information suggesting that, in cases like this, the hotel should inspect and clean the guest's clothing to prevent bringing the bugs home or to another hotel room. If anyone from the hotel reads this, I hope they will consider changing their policies and take better care in such situations. For guests visiting this hotel or any other, I recommend reading up on tips for identifying whether there are bed bugs in your room. Overall, bugs experience was quite disappointing.
